Or, and trust me on this, it is. Particularly if the user can observe the difference and it is not beyond the capacity of technology to Fuse reference values.

UX improvement by choice (with user-accepted drawback risk). Just like the lock button you miss. Which I wasn’t sure about until I had to wear my watch on the “wrong” wrist and “enjoyed” all the issues you’ve cataloged.

Agree.
My Spartan fusedalti is often bad. I correct altitude afterwards in desktop database, but I would do it on watch each time if I could. (for the situation I don’t know the altitude at start).
GPS altitude is not always good, but not always that bad. I would like to have the option to see GPS altitude and be able to tweak it a bit and save. We never know when fusedalti doesn’t work.

hmm… I’ve once since I own the S9B seen the altitude being bananas and that was when the watch went in some rare kind of the edge of tomorrow mode…
Coming from the A3PS I’ve always adjusted the alti manually, even with the S9B until I’ve learned that this deactivated the fusedalti. So I can say for my needs I miss an alti adjustment for around 0% as fusedalti does that for me, pretty precisely actually! only recently to 1m accurate …but there’s nothing that prevents unwanted button press in watch mode so far

Yep.
If you have to rely a bit on altitude during a workout, and if it has not been correctly fusedaltied, you are fu… for the rest of your party.

If we trust our map’s surveyors (or the folk who paint numbers on signs/chairlifts/unusually sedentary goats), then we can get a pretty good idea when it’s failing to be as accurate as it could.

If that accuracy never got worse than 3m (the pretty consistent reliability of my old Vector when calibrated), I’d be happy enough to trust it. However, I’m not sure that the vagaries of atmo pressure and GNSS signal reception/DOP could ever really guarantee it. Those conditions are waiting, if somewhat less predictably than the sleeve hazard.

I come from Ambit 3 peak and movescount and I need to have the same improvemente to manage interval training:

• can set time or distance but with pace (or better a range minimum and maximum pace) for interval and recovery. Best if S9 can vibrate or bip when out of pace range.

• can have memory of different set of customized interval training to can choose from them instead of do the work any time

Has anyone suggested coupling the toggling of additional features with the Auto DND? For example. I would like the watch to behave as follows.

• Default: HR monitoring OFF, StandBy backlight ON

• Auto DND: HR monitoring ON, StandBy backlight OFF

Why have they removed it as it was standard on the Ambits ?
So useful when i stash my watch in my pack or somewhere else.

I would also really appreciate backlight toggle. For example with a long press of upper an lower button or just a long press of lower button maybe. I don’t want to use constant backlight on or two fingers switch, since the latter applies to watch mode also, where I prefer backlight to be automatic (also it’s not easy to use when screen is wet or with gloves)

Auto lap default sett to off (it is now sett to on). We have auto lap in the Suunto app.

Like many of us, i wish they add the lockbutton function in all mode (watch mode included)

The flashlight fonction like the Traverse Alpha

And new watchface with a better design because most of them are really ugly compared to Garmin…
