A nice feature would be the VO2 max for trail (like an another brand 😅) taking into account the D+ and temperature

The S-series does supply VO2 Max from trail running. All my VO2Max is calculated this way. Already ahead of G……

@miniforklift I make an aid station spreadsheet, most races have aid times for a certain finish or I look up past results around my desired finish. I open the spreadsheet on the phone, hide columns I don’t need and rearrange if necessary. Then I take a screenshot and save it as a wallpaper. Works great, pull the phone out of my vest and onscreen is the info I need without unlocking so easy to do with gloves, etc.
And I forgot. I do this in landscape mode and then lock phone orientation for the race. It doesn’t affect taking photos so I never unlock the phone.

Do you use a belt? The OHR for me is highly inaccurate and will give very low VO2Max values. If the HR is accurate the VO2 Max should be consistent at least.

@brad_olwin I use the belt for all sports, but steep trails dump my score a lot. I just smashed my 8 years old PR on a steep trail (750m elevation gain in 3,4km) up an down - VO2 max dropped to 55 (it was 62.4 before). 3 days later, flat 10k in my z2 - VO2 max went back up - 58.4. Some flat runs and I will be back at 62 🙂 Not sure how accurate this is (you say that it’s quite good), but 7 points seems a lot? I’ll se when this covid cools off, I have a test in lab planned 😮

@brad_olwin i used both. Sometimes i don’t want to take the belt, usualy when it’´s a cool ride.
I think it’s because the first time i use it i was walking so the based VO2 max was 30.
Maybe i can reset it ?

@brunoh I think the black space is for the activity planning/calendar. AFAIK the activity schedule was displayed when I make a plan and sync with movescount website. Currently Suunto App doesn’t have this functionality but I believe this will come someday.

                        Feature Suggestions:
1)Activity Planning with basic analytical function.
2)Basic Training Gear Management connected to Strava or Runalyze.

How does is work out VO2 Max if you don’t have HR tracking enabled during training, does it just calculate it using distance & pace?

VO2 Max will not be calculated without HR

@brad_olwin You are right. 😉 Even simple planning function helps me to train harder. However, it would be better if Suunto can work more on this.

                                For example,

                                • Plan distance, pace, intensity or route which are integrated with training loads or recovery time.
                                • Analyze my training plan and warn over or under training and suggest optimum training.
                                • If I set the yearly target such as half marathon, Suunto app recommends specific training plan until the racing day.
                                • People can share and import training plan each other.

The above functions may be similar to the adaptive training in S3 or S5. But, integrating the watch with Suunto app would be more powerful and flexile.

In reality, I just want simple planning function similar to that of movescount 🙂
