@freeheeler not just two, I advertise suunto to all my friends as hard as I can!

me too, because I want them to use the best… same with everything. I only recommend what I am absolutely convinced of 👍

I forgot my watch yesterday and added an activity manually in the app. It’s pretty sad we still can’t import a GPX trace for that. It looks more important to suunto to control your music from the watch than keep an eye on your routes in the app.

@darxmurf just covert gpx to fit and import that. I did it for some of activities I completed even before having a watch.

@dmytro hum yep but how? I can download a fit file from the app but there is nothing to import it.

@darxmurf maybe there’s an easier guide, but at the time I did the following:

              1. Download file: I used gpx because I recorded with komoot and it doesn’t have fit files
              2. Create an account on quantified self io and connect it to your Suunto App
              3. Upload the file to quantified self, modify date and other metrics you need
              4. In one of submenus of quantified self, push the activity back to suunto app

@dmytro ah yep but this is a 3rd party solution and honestly it’s something which should be proposed natively by suunto. It’s a GPS watch/app, I think importing gos tracks is not something completely crazy…

                  @darxmurf ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe in the future, SA is a relatively new app.

@dmytro well yes but before replacing something working fine, insure your replacement is good too… A bit like buying a new car without wheels, we will install them later, it’s a brand new car.

I would love to see something relatively easy:

have “torch” like shortcut . eg long pressing to “down” key on home to turn the screen white and light the backlight for a predefined timer (15-30 sec max) . It is extremely useful nad possibly lifesaving in dark situations

@clemens-renzl Roumors are that Suunto has fixed the battery drain issue, but no release yet unfortunately.
                          I was hoping for a Christmas present… 😞

Does anyone know (and is allowed to tell) why Suunto is bundeling their fixes in a release roughly every quarter or half year instead of doing multiple smaller releases more frequent?

@surfboomerang it’s easier to manage the development and testing process, I suppose. Less public versions, easier debugging, more streamlined process that leads to a better stability. It doesn’t mean, however, that there are so few versions for insiders.

It is well known that there are several “internal” test firmware releases before the official one is delivered to final users.

That’s useful to avoid to distribute potentially annoying 😁 bugs, like those that brick watches 😁

I was just wondering because sometimes bugs are resolved almost instantly (e.g. v 2.18.20 for S9B and a calendar bug on 1st of January 2020)

Yes, agree, but that depends also on user habits, so could be not that easy to face and identify

topographic maps isn’t an option for S9, maybe for a successor (hardware limitation).
Customizable screens would be nice, indeed. On the other hand: I got used to what we have and there’s one thing in my mind: I’d rather have something default and not adjustable but it works rock solid than having the option to adjust it and make it prone to bugs
