@silentvoyager about 3 we don’t do anything with smart recording and distance.
We can extrapolate the distance for you but that will reduce the watch memory which is something a 3rd party software can do.

@cosmecosta
Wow. Interesting information. GPS accuracy on SSU is not bad for my needs (hiking in unfamiliar areas), I’m actually quite satisfied with it, but I was convinced that Vertical was better in that regard. -

I don’t know exactly what the watch does, perhaps that’s the Sony GPS chip that does that, but there is definitely a magic 10 meter threshold that influences when a new position is recorded. On my trail runs a significant majority of points are 10 meters or further apart. I see that when looking at distance streams in FIT files produced by Suunto 9.
When running on road 10 meters isn’t that far and is usually covered in 2-3 seconds. However on trails it often takes much longer to cover. And having a threshold like that ensures that the track cuts through most turns. That looks especially bad on tight switchbacks.

New Watchfaces…

How about the ability to shuffle the order of the screens as you scroll down? I’m typically most interested in recovery status, so I’d prefer to have the firstbeat metrics first. Others may have different preferences.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Suunto app could do it? I miss my ascend and descend in zwift.

And remove unused ones!

native STRYD support
-
@Durri My last outdoor running with Stryd was with the Polar V800 and there the GPS data was entered. This is running with Suunto 9 baro and GPS data is missing.
-
@Durri The S9 does have native Stryd support. I am not sure what more support that you are looking for.
-
@Brad_Olwin If it has native support, then why didn’t it write my GPS data like the V800?
-
@Brad_Olwin First screen was Stryd + S9baroTitanium. Stryd missing GPS data…here is the same from watch:
https://app.suunto.com/move/jurajkovacs/5dfde58710c1885b1d6cd854I would like to ask why adding Stryd does not work as POWER POD - the watch registers it only as Foot pod.
Thanks -
@Durri
Have you checked Stryd website FAQ ?
There are instruction there to pair it -
@Durri what’s missing is not support from the watch, but integration between the platforms so that Suunto sends your track to Stryd.

ThanksI do not see power data on your run, my runs have power data. I checked and for some reason the GPS information is not showing in the Stryd app ( I am on iOS). This is a Stryd problem not Suunto as the data are connected. I will check today. You can pair your Stryd either as a footpod OR as a powerpod, either will gibe you power but don’t do both. It depends on what you need. If you search the topic you will find the pluses and minuses of using Stryd as a footpod or as a powerpod only.
-
@Brad_Olwin
Yes the power zone in the shared link is not visible but in the application is there… -
@Durri My latest runs are not showing GPS data. I will run today to check. I would suggest posting on the Stryd forum as the SA connection should work. I will do the same if my GPS data fails to download.
-
Last week mine worked perfectly with gps and power.
-
@Durri Mine worked perfectly yesterday with no issues. I would sign out and then sign in again on the Powercenter page. Briefly, if you pair as a footpod and calibration is on, you will get pace, distance and cadence from Stryd calibrated to GPS, if calibration is off you will get Stryd pace, distance and cadence that overrides GPS but will get tracks. If you pair as powerpod you will get only power and no pace, distance or cadence from Stryd. Suunto is the only manufacturer to provide native Stryd support.
