Future S9 firmware wishlist summary

@cosme-costa whatever the update will contain: there will always be people complaining about it
-
@brad_olwin yeah, it’s working for short runs, maybe the problem is the environment, I run in terain where the up and downs are pretty short (let’s say from 500m to 2km) and if such route is to long I think the climb pro is not able to calculate it right.

@moe67er well, it works. It’s just super inaccurate, e.g., it said that I was climbing when I was descending, and this happens not just on one route but also many times. The same occurs with pace pro when I split the pace, not per each KM but using elevation. It was out. Maybe I wasn’t lucky.
Wow that is bad! Is that your typical experience, I thought ClimbPro worked well?
ClimbPro works really well. It is one of the best features of Garmin’s.
-
@egika
typical first world problem… we always find something that’s wrong -
@freeheeler thanks for the answer, I use that but I was saying something that you could add on the face watch with 7 parameters for example so you have speed, time, distance and hill inclination (and other things too)
-
@bogdan1921 20.30 is out and already contains some of the new features that the F7/E2 have launched with. Still some more to come, which will probably be in next beta (1-3 months); however there are also some features probably never come through (like possibly Stamina).

@brad_olwin
Climbpro - I have never had that experience - always worked well for me, but then don’t do those sort of distances. Probably longest climb I have had is around 5km distance wise. But have had 4-6 climbs 3-4 descents before and never had an issue on that course. -
I was just watching Ray’s in-depth review of the Fenix 7 and was surprised about the new SpeedPro activity.

Dear Suunto, are you taking notes for future firmware features?
-
Forgot one thing, when I used Fenix 6s, I put Airplane mode and powersaving in shortcut. I’d do the same in Suunto 9 if I can.
When you long press middle button in watch face, I would like to see [Power Saving] and [Airplane Mode] below the [Do not Disturb], so I don’t have to fiddle over the setting to turn on Airplane mode.
Thank you…
Maybe @isazi can follow up this to Suunto Dev Team too? -
@ierisch I can yes, not sure this will change soon. Although, well I cannot talk, but I’m excited
-
@isazi sounds promising!
-
So, when we can expect this new FW? Today, this week, this month?

oday, this week, this month
The last one it was 4 months ago (28 September 2021).
-
@nikola-penev tomorrow, 25th of January 2022.
-
@isazi
and our batteries will receive a rejuvenating treatment -
As @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in another topic, no structured intervals (or planned workouts) coming tomorrow. But rumors are here to stay with us. Until March? Maybe

I have to say, I don’t understand this “secret” policy about updates for existing products (I mean for all the brands, not only suunto). I can potentially understand that for new devices, and even, what would it change if the brand releases information about a new gear 1 month before the official release? I mean, they will release it anyway and can’t change their production line the last month.
Then what’s the purpose? Giving info in advance will help customers in their choice and if the product won’t match what they expect, they won’t buy it anyway, secret or not.
But giving news about the content of the next firmware is, in my opinion, something useful for the community.
Anyway, waiting for the firmware tomorrow.

Aha, so you want a brand to tell all the competitors in what is working, when is going to be released and what is new?
Is a great idea!
-
@bulkan one month in advance is not like 3 years in advance.
-
@dmytro Zero info to anyone. None of the non Suunto’s family knows anything.
