Ok here a a sneaky way to get your Stryd data and S7 data merged. You need a Premium TrainingPeaks account (sorry).

      1. Record a run with the S7, wear your Stryd and allow it to sync to TrainingPeaks.
      2. Offline sync Stryd for the same run.
      3. In Stryd PowerCenter download Stryd fit file.
      4. Follow this and you have a merged file in TrainingPeaks that you can download as .fit

@Brad_Olwin … Or you can just use Sporty Go 😂 Export your run to Strava and from there to SA using PhoneGap. Works well on treadmill. Haven’t tried it for outdoor runs though.

You should also be able to do:

        1. Sporty Go > Strava > SA > Stryd Power Center
        2. Offline sync Stryd sensor to Power Center, which should automatically merge two activities
        3. Enjoy your FIT file that contains not only GPS tracks, HR, and power, but also Stryd specific fields

@NickK My experience with SportyGo has been poor. I cannot read the screens very well, it is very buggy connecting to my Stryd and HR and it eats battery. It has crashed on every run, cannot properly detect altitude and loses Stryd connection on every run. I prefer SA and would rather combine the files than use SportyGo.

All this would be easier if Stryd had a proper app in WearOS. Is a work around ok. The sensor with Suunto ap is the best solution but I’m afraid we won’t have it.

@Brad_Olwin I understand. Heard others had some strange issues with it too. For running, I only used Go on treadmill once, for about 5 miles test. It worked fine. No crashes, no disconnects for HR/Stryd. Otherwise, I mostly use it for regular gym training. Had a single HR disconnect around 43 minutes in once, but I’m not sure it’s Sporty Go faulty.

Battery wise it’s worse than Suunto app, but not by much. I’d say around 10-12% per hour for me.

Speaking of Stryd… I believe I mentioned it elsewhere but it’s worth repeating: I talked to Stryd support and this is the app they recommend. No plans to port their existing Apple Watch offering. At least, support isn’t aware of any work done in that direction.

@NickK I am not using my S7 as my S9, just trying to help folks. The S7 does need a few things in my opinion. 1. all daily data/HR/Steps/sleep into SA, 2. Adjustable zones for HR and 3. Ability to load and follow routes. For me I think that would be it. I am ok with the sport modes on the watch.

@Brad_Olwin said in S7 and Stryd with SA:

                  1. Ability to load and follow routes

On the subject of which (feel free to move this over to general S7), did you ever get an idea of the comparative battery drain for ViewRanger app vs SA?

@Bulkan Or even easier if Suunto allowed external sensors in their app

it’s a pity. I love my s7…it is the best all day watch I have ever try but the lack of official support of stryd make me left at home every time I go for a run and get my s9.

                      PLEASE SUUNTO…
