Ambit3Peak : altitude problem

Hello.
I’ve a Ambit3 peak for 5 years and i use it for running, cycling … and sometimes (in winter) for skiing.
Every years, when i use it for skiing, i have a problem with the altitude even if i try to change altitude mode, to reset gps, to recalibrate gps…
for exemple with one of my standard skiing session 3 weeks ago, few meters after i start the exercice on the watch, you could see that i go under 0 meter during 20km and after, i go very high
, up to 15000 meters
After that kind of exercice, the watch need some hours to become stable and correct (to go back to the correct altitude). Some times, i need to power off it and restard to reset the altitude…
I havent find any solution for that problem and this year, i have had this problem every days.
If someone have already meet this problem and have a solution, i’m interesting on it. Perhaps i need to make my watch to be repaired ?
PS : when i run, i have had only once this behavior. All other run session are correctly recorded and altitude is (i hope) good.Thanks for your feedback and perhaps your solution

happened to me some weeks ago with my A3P and I don’t know why but now is working fine. I cleaned the baro sensor and maybe it helped. Did you try?

I have had strange altitude readings in the winter while not exercising (when entering/leaving heated buildings and vehicles) but this is extreme. Try cleaning your watch baro sensor (try searching the forum, have been explained how to do it few times). If that doesn’t help, maybe you should send the watch to Suunto service.

In more than 3 years with the A3P, that only happened to me one day. Curiously on an excursion in the US. I am from Spain.

I will try to correct clean the baro sensor and perhaps it will be suffisant. i’ll keep you informed -
I’m having similar issues. It can be stable for weeks and then jump from ~50m asl to 4000m while dropping temp to -50C.
E.g last week it was nice and stable (ski touring, alt. scale on the right, both profile and 1000-2000m range are correct):
A flat run back home few days later, real alt. diff should be in 10-15m range and it’s generally ~50m asl; bit challenging weather and trails in the woods, so some fused-alti shenanigans and baro drift is kind of expected:
And then this last night, real alt. diff should be in 30m range instead of 4000m. And when something like this happens, I always tend to get those choppy alt. charts in TP. Adjusted altitude before heading out but but it was rising from 50m to 1000m in like 5-10 minutes.
After that last run I soaked my A3P in warm water for an hour or so, turned off fused alti, reset gps,switched to baro mode and set ref. altitude. And it has been super-stable for past 20 hours. Last time it did something similar was about a month ago.
On a good day I still get something like this from my A3P for ~30m alt diff runs and this is almost identical of what I would get from 1m resolution DEM data provided by local land survey:
