    Dear Suunto Team,

I bought my Suunto Traverse 1,5 year ago and untill a few months ago, I was very satified. However, since the MC app disappeared, my watch has almost become useless. My biggest concern is that I can’t plan routes anymore, that I can’t import them and that it is a lot of work to make a new POI without using a computer. When outdoors, it is impossible to use a laptop and I can’t plan all my routes in advance.

Will the suunto app be updated in the future? Will there be another solution? The MC app was working fine!

The watch was quite expensive and I don’t want to have to buy a new one.

    Best Regards,

    Manon

Hello Manon, and welcome to the forum,

I’m sure Suunto will also read this or it will be in a way forwarded to them.

Don’t expect an answer of a Suunto Official here, all of us are hoping Suunto will come out with an announcment regarding those “older” watches more than what was already communicated through their official site. I completely understand the frustration of Ambit and Traverse users. Last update said, Summer of 2020, so lets hope all will be sorted out by then.

More information can be found here, you have to scroll down a bit for previous updates:

So, you don’t have the Movescount App installed on your phone?

@jthomi I don’t think you can install it on Android any longer (movescount, that is). I uninstalled Movescount to get onto the SA beta and I am no longer able to find Movescount in the Play Store for Android. I was able to find it in a list of historical apps, but when I tried to re-install it to go back, it said it was no longer available:

Maybe you did as I did and tried going back and forth to SA and MC a few times and then got in the situation where I am @Manon ? Either way, I’m hoping this is a sign that we’ll get an update to SA very soon that will allow us to create routes for our Traverse. Otherwise, this watch is 100% useless for what I bought it for (backcountry travel).

99% useless, surely. As @Manon stated, If you’ve got a fair bit of time and a durable poking digit, you can enter sequential POIs on the watch and use them as a route. It’s a user-unfriendly process in the planning (especially if the definable initial fix isn’t anywhere near your desired route) and clumsy in the field-use but maybe worth a percent? Half a percent?

Support told me I could use Moveslink2 to transfer routes from Movescount. I use Linux so that’s not an option for me, but I figured I’d share it on here in case someone is on Windows and has this issue.

Thanks for the link, but too much work. I just bought a watch from a competitor 5 mins ago. Sad to say, I’m popping this traverse in the drawer. Still going to use my Vector as my day to day watch (no charging, like the old days), but this is likely the end of my relationship with Suunto. Been a fun ride though. I’ll check back in a year and see what things look like.

@ChubbyCrusher They did remove Movescount from the app stores some time ago. Its a really frustrating situation, to have an App that you can’t use for everything you want to do with the watch.
