No notifications from iPhone

On my new S7 im am not getting notifications from my iPhone apps.
The WearOS app is set up and connected, notifications are enabled there and in the watch. BT on the phone shows connected as well.
What can possibly be wrong here? -
press and hold the button at the top left for a few seconds until the screen turns off and restarts and restarts S7

Now it seems to be working again

Plus I found that it is sufficient to switch to Airplane mode and back to restore the connection
