Display brightness control

Is there a chance that at some point S5 will get (I mean software update) a gauge to control Display brightness like in S9?

@adam12 I doubt it, I do not think the hardware can do this, otherwise it would be there. The Standby works well if you want to use that.

@Brad_Olwin Sorry new to this board and trying to find more information about screen brightness. Does standby improve it? Is there a way to toggle the backlighting ‘always on’? I cannot read the screen unless in broad daylight…unless using backlight. Which is fine…except that it seems there is now ay to toggle the backlight ‘on’ without also simultaneously activating the function associated with the button. In other words, I cannot merely turn on the back light but it also activates another action, changing some data displayed on the screen. Thx.

@Rosie65 You are not the first person to complain about that. Yes, standby backlight does help screen readability quite a bit in exchange to a small hit to the battery life.
