It happened now the third time to me, that S9 couldn’t find GPS. Last time it took 10 minutes. Today I was standing over 10 minutes. Then I thought lets run without. Afterwards I saw on track, that it took 1h until watch had GPS. Before speed and distance maybe only acceleration sensor (was pretty accurate 3-4%).

I update every time AGPS file. So also today. Watch showed in Settings newest file. Now it shows N/A. I think this was last time same. I guess tomorrow I get the new file. Today no AGPS file is syncing.

      I do something different.
Maybe someone knows, if this is the reason, or if it is something else:
My new iPhone goes in lock screen after 30 seconds. Does this influence the running AGPS sync? Maybe I had an empty file due to that? In future I won’t automatically lock screen.
I will now check everyday, even when not running…

      Thanks.

@zhang965 No. me not. S9 is best. Makes me very happy. Never have issues… nothing can’t beat this accuracy… Maybe my fault. With the automatic lockscreen during sync…never had it before…

My experienes: never any issues with GPS during any activity (not counting lost signals in tunnels).
It most certainly is not the watch (hardware or software) that I have issues with. And even in a very hard environment the GPS has become really good - not perfect (which is unrealistic in heavily urbanised areas), but good.
If there is something that has still a way to go - it is still the software (= app)

@zhang965 Which watch and where were you? I have had this happen only a few times when in deep canyons with substantial tree cover. It usually lasts only a few seconds to a minute and will re-acquire.

@mountainChris Occasionally but rarely this happens to me, sometimes with a watch update. Give the watch time to sync, it should not matter whether your phone goes into lock mode, mine still syncs.

@Brad_Olwin As expected, today synced with active screen Suunto App until finished. Like everytime I had after a few seconds GPS connection (same place outside). So you are right, sync should be done no matter what iPhone does. I can’t prove that it has something to do with the lock screen, but it is a feeling. Didn’t change anything else… Otherwise it would mean that the delivered AGPS file is broken… I will do it now everyday with active sync screen, just to get a feeling if it occurs again… Switched off auto-lock iPhone screen after 30 seconds, like it was before where I never had this…

@Shrek3k Yes, I really believe it is no watch issue. More an app thing…

@Brad_Olwin as @zhang965 it happened to me some months ago, I wrote it in some post. It was with the S9B and in a route that I’ve done at least 20 times with the S9B without problems, not before the issue not after. I would like to think that was something punctual.
