Suunto Watches that work With the Polar H10 Heart Rate Strap

Can anyone verify if the Polar H10 strap works with any of the Suunto Watches. I have one that works with another 3rd party app but want to upgrade to a Suunto watch to work with the Polar H10. Any insight would be great!

@mx724216 Any Suunto watch that connects to a BT HR belt, that should include all S series, Spartans and A3P.

Im not familiar with the S Series just currently have the ambit 2 and was looking at the 3. Also had the old T3 and T3C.

@mx724216 The T series will not work. The S series, S3, S5, S9 all will work.

Are those the newly released ones? I dont see any S in the names thats why I ask?

@mx724216 https://www.suunto.com/en-us/Product-search/See-all-Sports-Watches/?sports=192286. Called Suunto 7,3,5 and 9, shortened to S, sorry. The 7 will accept a BT HR monitor but NOT using the Suunto Wear App. The others will accept it.

Well Im looking at the ambit 3 for sure. However some of their new watches look nice too. I really want HR strap training load and Training Effect along with GPS. Almost to many to choose from. I wish my Ambit 2 worked with Bluetooth!

Suunto Wear App? (not familiar) Is Movescount going away? The one thing I liked about the watches before everyone needed a smart watch is they were truly dedicated to sports and exercise. Not sure what is a better fit. Not sure I need all the new fancy bells and whistles but when your looking at spending over 200 it makes ya wonder. Ambit 2 looks no different than 3 other than the Bluetooth feature.

ovviously, all the ambit3 family (run, sport, vertical, peak) works with BT, not only peak.

I had that combo (H10 polar strap) with my SSWHRBaro. I used it for running and cycling and the combo worked perfectly (better than Suunto’s smart sensor and much more frugal with the non-rechargeable batteries).

H10 belt works with every Ambit generation and variant out there (1/2/3/Vertical/Traverse), it’s not limited with BT-ones.
For pre-3 Ambits both belt and the watch must have latest FW and ANT+ for H10 must be enabled through Polar Beat app. -

As understood, the H10 belt works fine with Ambit2 in ANT+, with Spartan or Suunto9 in Bluetooth.Could you confirm the possibility to sync the H10 belt in ANT+ (Ambit2 as example) then also two other devices in bluetooth same time ??
In swimming use, does the H10 belt send in real time the HR data or record it, then send share after ?
Last one, what size do you use with H10 Polar belt ? I’m a chest of 83cm / 32,6inches.

Offline sync from H10 works only for Polar watches.

ANT+/BLE signals can’t be transmitted under water, so when using HR belt during swimming the data is recorded and stored to HR belt memory first and then transmitted to your watch above the water.And this won’t work if you use the HR belt and sport watches of different brands - not standardized tech.

@Dwartus the offline mode, when your heart rate monitor records the activity and syncs it to your watch only after the activity is over, is not standardized so if you need that for a Suunto watch you need the Suunto strap.

Well… actually the H10 memory function is not supported by any watch, not even the ones by Polar. It works only with Polar Beat mobile app. Or possibly with some 3rd party mobile apps, as Polar released BLE SDK and it happens to cover H10 internal recording (and accelerometer. and ECG sampling. über-cool!).
