ANT+/BLE signals can’t be transmitted under water, so when using HR belt during swimming the data is recorded and stored to HR belt memory first and then transmitted to your watch above the water.

And this won’t work if you use the HR belt and sport watches of different brands - not standardized tech.

@Dwartus the offline mode, when your heart rate monitor records the activity and syncs it to your watch only after the activity is over, is not standardized so if you need that for a Suunto watch you need the Suunto strap.

Well… actually the H10 memory function is not supported by any watch, not even the ones by Polar. It works only with Polar Beat mobile app. Or possibly with some 3rd party mobile apps, as Polar released BLE SDK and it happens to cover H10 internal recording (and accelerometer. and ECG sampling. über-cool!).

Well Im looking at the ambit 3 for sure. However some of their new watches look nice too. I really want HR strap training load and Training Effect along with GPS. Almost to many to choose from. I wish my Ambit 2 worked with Bluetooth!

You can buy any+\Bluetooth strap like the one from decathlon, that way it will work with your current ambit 2 and if you buy an ambit 3 or newer it remains compatible.

              @isazi I don’t find “Suunto strap” on the official website… 😞
Does this Suunto strap is also compatible ANT+ and Bluetooth ?
Does this Suunto strap has very high accuracy as Polar H10 ?

                Only bluetooth.
                Maybe the ANT+ was discontinued.

Suunto Comfort Belts were ANT, not ANT+, meaning that they were usable only with Suunto watches. And originally Ambit1 & Ambit2 could be paired only with those Suunto-branded ANT-belts. Those were discontinued around the same time Ambit1 & Ambit2 received updates that enabled proper ANT+ support.

For Ambit2 it doesn’t make much difference which ANT+ belt you are using, watch does not support HR cache syncing anyway ( nor tid Suunto Comfort Belt). What might work is some ANT+ optical HR (e.g. Polar OH1) that you can wear close enough to your watch. .

OK, so I will probably buy the H10 because ANT+ compatibility with my Ambit2, and also Bluetooth for other device in same time. Moreover, I would like to have an good accuracy. If I bought a Suunto9, I can still use this H10 also.
In case of swimming, I will use the wrist HR on the Suunto9.

What size do you use with H10 Polar belt ?
I’m a chest of 83cm / 32,6inches, I think M-XXL is the correct one, maybe XS-S will be too small.

                    Thank you

Go with M-XXL, smaller is way too short for you

I’m just few cm more and happy with M, and there’s still plenty of room to tighten it.

                        Hello,

Thanks for your help. I received this week my H10. The size M-XXL is the correct one for me.
The H10 broadcast directly the data in ANT+ and Bluetooth, no need to set. So it’s work fine with my Ambit2 and iPad.
