Bad max. speed
-
@Durri speed spikes can happen due to issues with GPS reception. If there is signal reflection or very bad reception etc, there can be a glitch. You need to tell more details of this activity, like sport mode, environment, conditions etc for a better analysis.

Water doesn’t help GPS at all
-
@Egika It was a bike ride, I have already inserted a link to the activity. But I still don’t know where the maximum speed came from, when it’s not even on the graph in the application.
-
@Durri Where’s the crazy max speed? My real max.speed was like the one on the chart.
-
@Durri
if you upload your activity to quantified-self.io you will most likely see the speed spike as QS shows the unfiltered and ugly truthI once had 200km/h on my roadbike… take this, Froome
-
@TELE-HO The error must have occurred somewhere in the application…

@Durri said in Bad max. speed:
@TELE-HO The error must have occurred somewhere in the application…
More likely the “error” happens in the watch.
As said, maybe a GPS glitch, causes a spike in speed, and other softwares are filtering it.PS : your link seems not to work, does this activity share publicly, for us to see ?

Have you used any external bike speed sensor? This happened to me many times when I was using one. When I stopped and then continued riding, the speed often went nuts in the first seconds… I described this in detail to Suunto, they promised to look at it and I think that nothing was done ever since Now I’m using just the GPS and everything works fine.
Edit: Sorry, I now noticed you mentioned GPS only. So, forget this

@Mff73 Ohhh yes, I made a mistake. I saved the .fit folder from the exercise and deleted the exercise in the Suunto application. I wanted to sync the workout again because it is still stored in the watch. But with the new sync, the workout didn’t transfer to the app. Can you advise me how to do it?
-
- Delete the app.
- Unpair the watch from the BT settings of the phone.
- Reboot the phone
- Make sure it’s forgotten by checking again the BT settings of the phone. (Some phones need restart to really forget the connection).
- Install, pair and sync
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos let’s do it
-
@Durri Keep in mind to never delete it from the watch.
2 more tips since (I think) you are new.
- Updating the watch erases the data on it. IT will still keep summaries but no actual data. So never update without sincing activities first.
- When max memory is reached the old ones are also cleaned to make space.
- To check if an activity has the data (or is gone) on the watch logbook you should have charts etc. If only the distance and pace eg are there then the activity is empty (has only the summaries)
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos hmmm those where 3
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos everything is fine, it succeeded, but it did not affect the wrong max. speed - it’s like before

@Durri
app version ? -
@sartoric 4.22.3
-
@Durri it wont if the max speed.
I had this as well with my walk yesterday. It can happen if GPS is “lost” even for a few secs (so you dont get the warning) and you are moving. It happens imo rarerly. I would look at that point on the map if there are any straight lines

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos ok, Thanks for help
