    Hi,

might be a little early as we are in beta now and the focus is currently on spartans. But is there already a strategy how to include diving moves into the Suunto App?

As diving watches are also a core business of Suunto it would make sense to include them into a concept as well, at least to have a long-term plan.

    Some examples:

    • connection of bluetooth diving watches
    • sync of non bluetooth diving watches via a web interface (right now you only can sync them via movescount -> sportstracker which currently leads to doubled entries of all other moves in the app which is a little annoying)
    • using longer descriptions (for describing the dive and stating the used equipment); this is already discussed here and should be handled
    • …

@gest83 great feedback about diving computers. I’ll check for you what is the general view about this. I believe Ambits are planned but not sure about diving.

I didnt dare to open this very same question, so thanks for sharing.
It would be a nightmare not to include other Suunto products in the roadmap for unified exprience and development synergies

@gest83 Yes, there is a plan to add Dive-products into Suunto app. I think the small print in some of my early replies “we will add all BLE capable devices” covers that.

            When?
Most likely we do not have anyone who can start working on it too much before Suunto 3 Fitness is out, actually not even immediately after the release. If everything goes smooth enough, it may be possible to sync some dive products with Suunto app before next year.
We are studying alternatives like if we would need beta for other than Spartan products too at some point. If that is the case, you’ll hear about it here in the forum.

You have that non-BLE device issue mentioned there and that is unfortunately an area that I have no visibility at all at the moment. I’m not quite sure how the product promises wiIl be handled and what all covered with Suunto app. Anyway for dive related things, it may be a bit too early phase to start collecting feature request.

@jouko-from-suunto Thanks for the reply! Looking forward to join the discussion when diving equipment is going to be included.

Concerning the non BLE devices: at least an option to sync them via a PC/web version and then via web to app would be highly appreciated (probably not only be me 😉 )

Hey, what do you know. I was wondering about something and my exact question already has a thread here. Got an EON Core last year, which I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet (sad), and then got a Suunto 3 Fitness for Christmas and was wondering about this. It’d be super if I could used both with the same app and not have to fragment my activities in different apps all over the place. I’m wondering now if there’s any (guess?) update on the roadmap timeline.

As a bonus, here’s a thought: if the dive log could include my heart rate from the dive using data from 3 Fitness (+ a heart rate belt?), it’d blow my mind. 😄

@Ville-Päivätie doesnt the EON pair with the latest beta?

@Ville-Päivätie As of now, you can capture an activity using something water resistant with heart rate and then reassign its type to scuba diving. Trouble is: while there’s a special section for dives in the Suunto app, there’s virtually no dive specific information that’s captured or displayed… You know… Average/max depth, gas used, tank pressure, visibility, dive buddy, site, etc.

That being said, DM5 watch, which looks very much like Suunto 9 for diving, is just around the corner, and I would imagine by the time it rolls, Suunto app would have been updated to track scuba diving properly.

As per the ability to pair multiple watches to the same app… People have been asking about it for a while 😂 I suppose you can make an argument that Spartan, Suunto 9, and Suunto 3 Fitness are somewhat mutually exclusive covering less or more same space, but any of them and DM5 are definitely complimentary and must be supported at the same time.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos You mean Suunto App beta? I don’t know, as I don’t have the beta. I could try it out if its available for IOS somewhere.

I did pair EON with Movescount, but as I have a long history of cycling and running data in Suunto App (most from when I used Sports Tracker for a few years), I was wondering if there’s a possibility to have data from both of my Suunto devices in the same place. I can of course use other apps.

I currently selecting which app to use to store my future dive logs. Do I keep my above sea level activities in Suunto App and below surface stuff somewhere else, or will I be able to combine both in the same app.

@Ville-Päivätie The only one to have data in Suunto app from both devices currently is to have your EON paired to Movescount, sync it there, and setup Movescount / SportsTracker (aka Suunto) connection, so whatever gets into Movescount is pushed into Suunto automatically. Then your dives would make it over just fine while S3F remains connected to Suunto.

Trouble is: at the moment there’s not much diving support in the Suunto app, even in the latest beta.

@Ville-Päivätie afaik I am sure the Android app supports EON so please give it a try. (I think or else it’s hidden from you)
