    This was asked in the surveys Suunto did a time ago.

    I don’t know if I would use it, is practical or is too tedious to do the workouts?

      @Bulkan let me say first that for me strength training is not a goal, is just something I do to improve my climbing. Said that, I used it for years and never, even once, went back to check the data on the app. So for me it’s not useful. What I need is simply the time for the current lap, the total time, and the lap number, and I’m fine with that 🙂

        @Bulkan It can be tedious when doing it on the app but I look back at my records frequently as strength training is my primary thing as opposed to running, biking, etc. That being said, Garmin has the web version called garmin connect which is much easier to navigate and modify, so any really in-depth manipulation of that data is much easier there.
        Just wish Suunto had something like that to be a true apples-to-apples competitor.

          @isazi Well, if you run or ski the strength is a good partner. I’ve been with injuries and the strength, among other things, helped me to keep doing what I love.

          Strength (bodyweight and some boring stuff with versay pulley),rollerski, bike in trainer and swimming helped a lot to come back to running.

          What I find useful in a watch is to organized some sessions. I do 3x3x3 mostly of my strength sessions and sometimes I lost which is the next exercise hahaha specially after burpees.

          There are people who don’t need strength but there are other who need strength sessions.

          Even in the best book I read about trailrunning The Uphill Athelete they recommend those exercise.

            @David-Koby I see, Suunto prime focus is outdoor sports so maybe there are some things you will miss from Garmin’s devices. I use WKO to track my activities in mostly all sports I do, but I keep an excel to track some test of weights I do. 1RM…

              @Bulkan Thanks for the insight. Well, that’s too bad though, I think that Suunto are nice watches. They’re just not going to cut it for me.

                @David-Koby if your prime sport is not outdoor maybe give it a try this summer and start to go outside and run or hike if you can and have time ✌

                  @Bulkan oh hiking I do! Love it. Just not a runner. I’m over 300lbs so running will tear the snot out of my knees, hips and back.

                    @Bulkan I’ve been following a plan from uphill athlete for years, so I agree with you, but I don’t care to have the kind of exercise, repetitions, or weight logged. I have my own customized strength training mode in which I use laps to count sets, and that works for me 🙂

                      This is nice to have to progressively overload and not stagnate. Do 1 more rep/1kg more than before, this is super useful for me so I don’t stagnate. I am an endurance athlete, but do strength training 2-3 times a week. If you do same thing over and over agin, you just don’t improve, running/cycling is easy to track progress, you need for other workouts too. I fully support this option 🙂
