Spartan Hr Baro/Altimeter inaccuracy!!

Today I reset my Spartan Hr Baro to determine if there is a discrepancy in Baro/Alti sensor vs my Suunto Traverse Alpha
Here is my findings:
Spartan HB after reset recorded Altitude at 75 Mtr which is 20Mtrs less than my location which 95mtr. This lead to a Barometer reading of 1013hPa which is correct based on the local weather and also correct according to my Traverse! However, my Traverse has the accurate reference altitude of 95mtrs. So Spartan is off by 20Mtrs, when I adjust Spartan to my correct altitude of 95Mtrs the barometer jumps up to 1016hPa which doesn’t make sense as air pressure decrease with higher altitude!?
Can anyone please explain if this is a faulty sensor in the Spartan hr Baro or it just a dispcrepncy that can be overlooked?

@Optics-field-Test … this could be a long discussion
but the short is: you read MSLP (Mean Sea Level Pressure) and not local pressure (except you are in Russia and some other coutries which report loacl pressure information) on your display. So the sensor information stays the same for the pressure (local) but your increased altitude (you gave) and the maths in behind calculate out of this the MSLP and this one must be also higher because you said local pressure stays the same at higher altitude. OK? -
@Optics-field-Test … and btw: of course it sucks not to have the same info like your weather station, but:
.) the information you get might be old compared to your reading from the watch (my weather station updates every hour but with 20 minutes delay)
.) the altitude of you and your reference waterstation might be the same, but that doeas not mean you have the same ambient pressure (except ist really only some hundreds meters away). Even wind can create some higher/lower readings for you
.) temperature is also a factor (watch reading in that case) as it is needed to compensate pressure differences to the reference temperature for the pressure sensor readings

Btw I go by my Davis Weather station which shows the absolute pressure and SLP based on my altitude. The traverse is spot on but I think the Spartan is always about 1.5hPa higher which isn’t a big deal. The Spartan had 75mtr straight after resetting and once I did the auto altitude calI ration it corrected itself to 95mtrs which is my current elevation. I can confirm that the barometer is now reading 1015hPa and my traverse is showing 1014hPa so all in all seems like the reset settlers things a bit.

@Optics-field-Test my baro readings are also always a bit off but I had different readings with different watches (Fenix 5 was worst). But since I’m not flying planes anymore, the baro figure is less important to me. I calibrate to altitude which I know and check only pressure changes for storm alert or weather changes

@johann-fuehrer definitely the Bro/Alt feature always handy when flying abroad and predicting stargazing parties
other than that I found the Spartan to be very accurate in calculating as little as 3 mtr stairs in my house -
I have the same problem now with my spartan trainer HR wrist. What can I do? Some running data have 0m elevation gain. Such a LIE!
