Good Morning. I don’t know if this question has already been asked. I’ve been looking but can’t find anything like it. I have this Spartan Baro and I would like to know if it happens to you that when I do an activity the difference between ascent and descent is almost always approximately 10 meters. I update the GPS and put the correct reference altitude according to google and others. Thank you very much to all.

it is possible that it is due to barometric changes. Are the ascents and descents done on the same route?

Yes effectively. I am doing that test, I always do the same route. The minimum altitude 880 meters and maximum 1053 meters

10m d+ of difference are not many but not very few either.

can you share some links activity?

These are just a few. In others they are 6 meters apart, but mostly between 10-12 meters

Ah OK. It is quite normal. I understood it was going back and forth exactly on the same route. This makes the difference because the D+/- is counted every consecutive 3m and on a ring route like yours, rather hilly, these differences are expected.

The 3 laps are identical and should bring the same difference in height, but here comes the speech of the barometric pressure variation that I was doing above.

In addition, AFAIK, in the most recent watches FusedAlti starts working several times, during the activity, this helps the comparison between pressure and altitude.

On Spartans, it should only start working at the beginning of the activity, it seems to me within the first 15’ if you have a good GPS signal (and normally you have it on a bike).

So I repeat, it seems normal behavior to me 😉
