My Suunto App informs me that there is an update available for my watch, but when I fire up SunntoLink it says that my watch is up to date (2.11.38).

Does anybody know what to do?

By the way, on a similar topic, I think Suunto should make firmware updates available through the app, or, even better, provide software for Linux. It is exceptionally annoying having to fire up a Windows VM just for a firmware update for a watch…

    Thanks, Mike

@mfischer01 try to update Suuntolink. If it doesn’t work, delete and reinstall Suuntolink, or force update by downloading the firmware and carry it to Suuntolink with your mouse.

I’m also one of the “need a VM to update the firmware” users.

        Hi,

I reinstalled SuuntoLink, but nothing changed. Where do I download the firmware?

        Thanks, Mike

@mfischer01 can it be some antivirus/firewall blocking suuntolink?

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I don’t think so, if that would be the case the application would not be able to connect to the Suunto servers at all…

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos There is no networking issue, as you can see in the packet capture attached (Please remove the gpx ending, this forum wouldn’t let me upload a capture file). It takes a few attempts to select the proper cipher, but connection to firmware.geo.movescount.com is established…

Does anybody have an idea what I can do?! suunto_capture.pcapng.png

However, if possible, try to change the type of connectivity. It has worked in the past

@Mff73 Thank you, the manual firmware update worked.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos If there are that kind of networking issues on a PC where internet connection per se is working, Suunto should seriously work on the piece of cr** of software that SuuntoLink is.
