    Hello,
    During a run activity the touch screen locks and to light the screen I have to press the middle button causing the screen sliding to the next… am I missing something or it’s so unpractical by design?
    Thanks

      @pacos there are workarounds but not a direct solution. You can also search a forum for this, it was suggested functionality to be expanded.
      But you can try few things out:
      lock the buttons during activity, so you stay on the same screen while activating backlight
      Change to white theme to improve readability
      Toggle always on backlight
      Toggle backlight by tap with 2 fingers in watch settings

      Hope I’m not missing something.

        I would recommend to set the backlight to ON from the activity options right before you start running. This is a one-time setting so during your run, your backlight will stay on, but once you ended the activity the backlight functions as you configured it in the general options.

          @surfboomerang did you check how this influences the battery? I never tried and I’m curious. For example, 1h run without light is what? 3-4% of battery on performance mode with wrist HR on. If not, I’m going to try it myself tonight 😸

            @markytarky
            it eats battery but only the nordic polar night lasts longer than the battery with backlight toggled on 😉

              @markytarky Never watched it so closely, but I suspect it isn’t very much difference on a 1h run if you set the brightness to 5-10% (which makes it easy visible in total darkness).

              And you can always charge your watch again when you’re home 😉

              I can imagine this is an issue for ultra runners, but not for the rest of us.

                with brightness set to 35%, 1 hour run with back light on, consumes approximately twice as much battery as with back light set to off. That is my observation on S9b.

                    I am doing this for after sunset runs now. And I only learned about this feature a month ago! Before I was checking the watch only when passing under a lamp 🙂

                      This is what I use most and the toggle of two fingers.

                        @Bulkan what’s the toggle with 2 fingers?

                          @Bulkan at this time the most practical way is setting the battery mode in customized, same as performance, but activating the touch screen… is it touch screen active consuming more battery?

                            @pacos battery drain for touch is negligible but touch with long sleeves and sweat can make the watch do things you don’t want.

                              @pacos you can activate the light with a touch on your screen with 2 fingers at the same time. This is a kind of manual light activation.

                                I always use with touchscreen on, because I don’t do events too long diary. The touch battery for me works pretty well but I live in a place where I don’t run in low temperatures.
