Number of downhill runs in alpine skiing
-
I revice this topic because I have the same issue between Suunto and Strava.
My Suunto App displays 18 runs, while the Strava app displays 37 runs. After analyzing the FIT file from Suunto App I discovered the issue. At the end of the file there is a statistics for the entire activity including number of laps = 37. This is the source used by Strava to count the runs. If this field is missing, than Strava calculates the number of runs by itself.
Suunto developers, please set the correct number of laps/runs into the FIT file so that Strava can read the correct value. Thank you!

I have a similar problem using the Vertical. The Suunto App shows for Alpine Skiing that I did 13 runs (which is the same as my SkiTracks App)but on Strava it shows 26 runs. I have not looked at the FIT file. I see nothing in the Suunto App with 26 in it.

@Lawrence-Kuracina It seems that the problem was resolved, at least with Race 2. Today was my first alpine skiing session with the new Race 2 and the number of runs is correct (and the same in SA and Strava). I have no idea if it is Suunto’s doing or Strava, but it works.

@MdzOtt Thanks for the info.

I recorded my first Alpine Skiing session with the Race 2 watch on Saturday.
Unfortunately it does not show the number of runs, either on the watch itself, nor on the Suunto App.
On the other side, the Suunto App shows me stats like steps cadence for steps and cycling?
And it also gives me recovery time of 51 hours. Although I am pretty sure I did not do the Lauberhorn downhill race 4 times

@Stoke80 I’d like to file a bug for this.
If it happens again, that neither watch nor app shows the # of runs, can you please send logs from the settings of the app as soon as possible after the activity?
Then please let me know your app user name in private message and the date and time, when you sent the logs.
Thank you! -
@Egika yes its a problem. I checked today, and the watch was showing all zeros. Fortunately, it recorded the activity, so not all is lost.
-
@Egika I’ll try capturing the logs tomorrow

@MdzOtt said in Number of downhill runs in alpine skiing:
I noticed in SA that there were numerous tiny runs (a couple of metres), probably when moving through the line to the lift.
I had the same problem the last skiing season, Suunto needs to introduce an algorithm to filter out these irrelevant downhills, below a minimum distance and/or speed the section should be ignored

Not exactly topic but related…
I don’t know if « uphill bug » has been corrected for ski resort native sport mode (it counts distances and elevations of lifts…what force to correct manually total distance and elevation to 0).
