Since the last months, my Suunto 7 is really wrong about ascent total. It’s always higher than my old same track and different from reference map.
Today I compared with my ambit 3 and it’s really not good…
The value of the ambit 3 are perfectly coherent with this known track.

On the S7, ascent is growing up in downhill and flat road…altitude seems correct but it’s not stable compared to altitude on ambit 3.
The wind was very light (1m/s).
What do you think about this ?
      Thanks

@isazi Thank you, I just had some pictures of my watches.
I don’t think it’s the same issue cause the raw altitude is correct (even so not stable).
          It’s the ascent.
I already washed the sensor with tooth brush and flush of water.

@kramble can you share an activity? One issue could be the sensor registering many little spikes adding to ascent.

@isazi Yes, it seems to be this, but even in downhill, and at the end it’s a huge difference with my ambit 3.
Can you see it on the pictures ?
How can I share an activity from Suunto app here ?

@kramble the spikes add to both ascent and descent.

@isazi sorry for the delay but I wasn’t allowed to post anymore, I don’t know why…
You’re absolutely right about the little picks and this is the issue. I send back the watch to suunto in Tcz Rep.

@kramble i’m on my 4th watch that has had altitude issues, and I gave up on it.
Just expect your altitude to double on “good gps with fusetrack” and triple the altitude on “best updates every 1 sec”. Offline downloaded maps/cellular maps doesn’t make a difference. I can see on the breadcrumb trail that I “bounce around” even when standing still.

I’ve given up tbh. They are using low quality GPS units and barometres most likely.

I just want that lock on gps route (snap to route) that Suunto 9 Peak has since I just follow the GPX file that I upload anyways.

Suunto service just informed me that they will send me a new unit of suunto 7.
By the way it’s the Suunto 7 China graphite copper, is there any link with this malfunction about ascent/descent involving an unstable altitude with frequent little picks ?
