I just update my watch latest v 2.16.26. Why did you put away Toggle mode? Now I can bot turn off backlight when watch are active. Could you put back Toggle mode? Even if I disable Backlight in shortcuts it and enable do not disturb mode, the backlight is still on. 😥
Is there any option how to disable Backlight?

I would expect that if I disable Backlight in shortcuts than it will be permanently disabled:

@vio112 that is the backlight not the standby light.

Turn off the standbylight most probably

@vio112 you mean that if you press a button the light is on, or is permanently on? Mine is always off unless I do something.

Yes, if I press any button (action) the backlight turns on. I would like to have it permanently turned off as before with Toggle mode. For me it is absolutely useless, I do not need it automatically turned on, I would like to turn it on if I need it = toggle mode. Also it doesn’t make sense for me to have it turned on during activity, during my activities I have enough daylight and this will decrease battery life. 😥

@vio112 I thought it was always like that, a button press turns on backlight.

No, it wasn’t. It was completely turned off in toggle mode and that was cool.

@isazi just checked on my not yet updated S5 and in toggle mode only a long press upper left button turns on and off the backlight - any other button press leaves the backlight turned off. So if the „toggle“ option got removed it may be that it doesn’t work like before. For me I am happily awaiting the raise to wake Option on the S5 since for my older eyes the display was always a bit hard to see - and of course I am even more happy when my S9Peak will arrive in the next weeks 😀

I too am unhappy with the removal of Toggle mode. I liked being able to have the backlight off at all times and being able to quickly activate it via tapping the screen (when needed). As noted, whenever I am using the watch the backlight now stays active. It seems that Toggle mode could have been kept with the latest update.

@isazi toogle mode is even stated in suunto 5 manual. It is very weird that suunto removes functions specified in product manual. I am happy that there is development of firmware and happy that they want bring snap to route to suunto 5. But if it is in cost of loosing toogle mode, i will stay with older firmware. I used toogle mode in ambit 2s, and i use toogle mode in suunto 5 and it was one of must have features for me. I don’t need backlight during day or daylight activities but i need to be able to turn on backlight during night by simple upper left button long press.

Is there any option how do downgrade it? I really need toggle mode, this is useless for me.
