Indoor rowing distance not accurate

I wonder if suunto is going to fix this issue? While I know that it is not going to be as accurate as the rowing machine monitor itself, I find that suunto 9 completely miss out the distance by wide margin when it comes to indoor rower.
For example, i could row for 2k and suunto 9 measure only 1k or less.
I thought this was the problems with watch that’s not connected with rowing machine, until I try my kids fitbit ionic.
While fitbit is certainly not accurate, it almost always produce much closer number. For example, a 6km row would produce something between 5.7 to 5.9km in fitbit.
Will Suunto ever fix this issue?

@kk2n-kk You can overwrite distance in the Suunto app manually, but what syncs to other services like TP and Strava is the original value (as the sync is automatic). So yeah… A fix would be nice.
PM5 BLE support would be even better!

@nickk what happens if you switch internet of during a sync, then change the distance, then turn internet on again, so sync to 3d parties can happen? Does it still transfer the original file?

@dmytro Haven’t tried. I’m only rowing as a recovery activity, hence rowing stats other that hrTSS are of less concern for me.
Perhaps @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos knows the internals of third party sync? Whether what gets sent is the original file vs the updated version?
