Recently began working with Training Peaks and also using a Wahoo Smart Trainer (kickr core) for my indoor biking sessions.
Big issue is with the interconnection between Wahoo - TP - Suunto. While Wahoo gets great data on power/ speed/ cadence, Suunto gathers HR data. Yet, when uploading to TP (and Strava) this one session gets duplicated: one with HR data (ie Suunto session) and one with Wahoo data.
Would love to solve this with some potential solutions being:

    • have Suunto receive full data set from Wahoo and then becoming the sole upload to TP
    • have Suunto send HR data to Wahoo and then Wahoo uploading to TP (this is done on Garmin’s via the “Virtual Run” feature) or
    • having TP receive the two data sets and merging them on their site.

    Has anyone fixed this issue?

@darguelles can you not record the whole thing with HR and power in either Wahoo or Suunto? Then you would not need to merge the data later on…

@egika issue is Wahoo does not read HR (unless I purchase a separate HR sensor). And Suunto will not receive all data from Wahoo (ie it receives Power but not cadence or distance).

@darguelles does Wahoo create a fit file with the data? Then you can upload the fit file from Suunto and the one from Wahoo to https://gotoes.org/strava/Combine_GPX_TCX_FIT_Files.php and create one to use it with Strava’ or TP.

Hm, I use Zwift with a Kickr Snap and a Polar H10. Zwift does give you the opportunity to connect the training and HR-Belt (and rpm-meter) directly to zwift. Why not export the activity from Zwift directly to TP and/or Strava? Only disadvantage is, that the activity then doesnt show up in the Suunto-App.

@darguelles Got this issue several time in the past.
Solution Number 1 If you have two workouts in TP for the same day: go to your workout-> Menu Files-> You should find an option sayin :merge activity" or so… I can’t remember if you need a premium TP subscription for that.
Solution number 2 The one I use: Pair your trainer to the suunto as a power pod. May be you will receive also cadence and speed data. If not, as in my case, Get speed (on the back wheel) and cadence sensor for collecting data and pair them separetely into suunto.
With this addistional 40/50$ I get accurate data indoor and outdoor since I use the same bike.
Or 3rd solution: there is a very rare and hard to find device collecting ANT+ data in to Bluetooth streams. It costs around 100$. and works ok.
It’s like a data bridge and is as far as I know the only possible working solution to train indoor with a Polar device and still get your data right.

My advice is to go solution2. Less money and best accuracy.

              Hope this helped you.

@darguelles for me it’s not clear what devices send data to trainingpeaks:

                • Suunto 9 and a Wahoo Elemnt/ Garmin Edge
                • Suunto 9 and a trainingplatform like Zwift/Trainerroad/Systm etc.
When I had some similar problem with an Ambit3 Peak I use another HR-Belt with dual band (Wahoo Tickr, Polar H9/H10…). Then I connect all BLE-signals (HR-Belt; Power/Cadence from the trainer) to my watch and all Ant+ signals (HR, Power/Cadence and of course trainer control) with the trainingplatform. Laptop was connected with an Ant+ Stick.

@fluca Thanks for this! Ended up going with solution 1 for the moment as I got a free upgrade to TP premium.
