I think so, too… but if we can take S9B Ti as reference: yes it scratches, but it can take much more than I would expect

I don’t know anything about the manufacturing process of Suunto watches.
But from the detailed pictures it looks like the titanium is anodized. There are different ways to anodize material and it can (!) reinforce the surface hardness.
Since to me it looks anodized and not coated, there’s nothing to peel off.

edit: yes, pre-order button in my case leads to customization, too.
