      Hi folks,

Bought a new Suunto Heart Rate Belt, and it seems that it is not compatible with out dear 7 series. Or i am wrong? Did anybody got it working with the watch? Tried different tracking phone apps, but i want to pair it with the watch. I can see the belt in Bluetooth pairing settings as available, but once i pair it, with a confirmation message, i see it as unavailable in the paired devices list.

      Thank you in advance.

S7 is not compatible with any HR measurement device. The OHR of the S7 is pretty good, maybe not perfect, but you will have good results.

@raul-raymond I use ghostracer. pair the belt first via ghostracer on the phone, then it will be avail in the settings of the watch app of ghostracer.

tbf, s7’s optical heartrate monitor is usually rather correct. After a run, the average bpm is usually between +/- 2

@freeheeler that’s not true. The S7 is compatible with belts, only you need to use a second sports app. Usually doesn’t drain too much extra.

sorry, if there’s an app to override the incompatibility, then I’m wrong

@freeheeler yes. even smart BT belts works. but like you said, its not worth it since the watch is so accurate

I used S7 during the winter and did not connect an HR device as I understood it was not designed for it by default AND I was happy with HR measurement of the S7 itself. I was sceptical, because the S9 really has difficulties on my wrist to read properly, but I was surprised how well S7 performed 🙂

@freeheeler maybe that’s why they never bothered with giving it belt support
