Skin burnt by watch!
-
I was about to teach my class, it suddenly felt like a bug or spider bit me underneath my Suunto Baro 9 watch. As I checked, I realized that the watch was extremely hot and left my wrist burnt and reddened. Has this happened to anyone? The battery has been draining pretty fast lately, and I planned to send it in soon. But other than that, it’s always been great.

@michaeldwilson seems to me like a faulty battery. I’d advise to stay away from the watch - who knows, battery might explode also.

@michaeldwilson
please get in touch with support. I have never heard of it. the S9B housing is plastic and does not conduct heat very well. the only metal that’s also in direct contact with the battery are the 4 charging connectors.as @DMytro suggested, I would put the watch away and would not try to charge it again.
watch transportation to a service center in general is not a risky thing, but I would ask when in touch with support.Is your watch still within warranty?

@freeheeler Thanks, FreeHeeler. I chatted with support and she asked me to send in the watch. I did. We’ll see what happens. It’s out of warranty.

@michaeldwilson Follow up: Suunto replaced by SB9 with a brand new one. I certainly appreciate their customer support and the support of their products. I’ve worn Suunto watches for running/GPS since the X9s way back in 2005 or so. I’ve always been pleased and even more so now.
