@André-Faria I don’t know if it was a question of sequence but I synced BT first, then connected to SuuntoLink - let it do its thing, detached, then checked SA et voilà - new POIs.

All attempts did not work; until I did a factory reset of the watch.

Then created new and different POI’s in SA and A3, then new sync of A3 with SA via BT. Thereafter sync of A3 via cable with computer (Suunto Link/SL). Can still not understand why a computer running SL has to be used for syncing POI’s- Anyway, at least syncing both ways is working now - POI from SA is showing in A3, and POI from A3 is showing in SA. Finally. (But what that also means is that the Suunto help pages - see postings above - should be corrected, because it is possible to sync POI from and to A3 and SA.)

        Thanks @Mff73 @Fenr1r @André-Faria

There was a time where we tested sync of routes for a3 within iOS Suunto app beta.
Apparently it didn’t work super well and so it was never implemented.I believe android version never had it.

Guess Suunto doesn’t have the resources to work on such old watch, which is on my view a pity.
With a fênix 2 which is about the same age you can do everything with the app.

@André-Faria Appreciate your response. Using Android, I thought the wide range of devices and manufacturers would lead to more focus from Suunto (compared to the bitten fruit brand).

And, the A3 an old watch? Five years of age only. Aggrieving for the customer and not sustainable as manufacturer - the year is 2023. Feels like Suunto is cutting off existing customers intentionally and not being willing to act environmentally friendly. What a cynicism as a manufacturer of equipment used in nature… Next watch? This price range? Not offering long-lasting products? Suunto? Eeeeeh, nope.

@overgrowntrail the Suunto 9 is 5 years old, the Ambit 3 is much older than that, and not being manufactured anymore (since 2019?).

@isazi Understand you are confirming: aggrieving for the customer and not sustainable as manufacturer, not being willing to act environmentally friendly. Cynical as a manufacturer of equipment used in nature.

Ambit 3 was launched in 2015 and produced at least till 2019 (my unit is from 2019).

@overgrowntrail I am not confirming anything. When the Ambit was launched, the Suunto App did not exist. The app has been developed later than that and targeting the S series. Suunto, although with limited resources, made some small effort to at least offer some compatibility between the app and pre S series watches, but with these watches not being actively developed anymore, the compatibility is minimal.

This is my last message in this thread, this has been discussed for years and keep discussing it would not benefit anyone.

@André-Faria Exactly. Very disappointing to see Suunto as an use-and-throw-away orientated manufacturer. Especially as a manufacturer of devices that are used in nature.

@overgrowntrail let’s believe that they do their best with what they have. One “solution” may be having with you a device with windows 10/11 to install suunto link. There are some tablets with it.
@isazi although I understand your point, I think the fact that some ambit 3 users still speaking out may mean something…either that the watch still pleases them, has features that please them, and that may be also an oportunity for suunto to listen to it.
Also just because Suunto doesn’t have the resources doesn’t mean something can’t be done. Maybe opening the protocol of communication so someone could do something about it, or other types of solution. On my side I have zero interest in complaining.
PS: once upon at time I even proposed to open a bounty (inspiration here ) to collect money in order to pay to have these features (of corse to be develloped inside suunto), this way they could also understand how much people value this. On my side I would be ready to fork 100eur for having full support on suunto app for the A3P(and I already bought a s9b at similar price).
