      Hello,
I have a question concerning the charging of my watch, which is no longer working properly. My watch has gone below 0% battery, so it shows me a battery with an electric plug.
When I plug my watch into the power supply (electrical network), there’s a flashing light in the battery and the plug is also flashing (alternately one and the other)…
If I plug my watch into the PC I get the same thing and a message saying that my watch isn’t recognized, nor does the suunto link app launch.

Is there any significance to the fact that the lightening in the battery and the plug are flashing? Because it usually doesn’t flash no?

I’d like to point out that

      • my Suunto 9 baro titanium watch was purchased in November 2018 (so the watch is older than 4 years).
      • I’ve cleaned all the connectors with alcohol and scraped lightly to remove any impurities.

      My guess :

      • Maybe the battery is at the end of its life? and that is the signification of a flashing light in the battery and the plug is also flashing ?
      • The connector on the watch are dead ?

      Thank you for your help.

      Pierre.

          @isazi
Hi thanks but I am almost sure it is not coming from the cable because it worked the day before and I did nothing during the night with the cable.
And then the morning I had the issue I described.
But I will try to go to a store and see if they have a cable, but I think it will not be easy to find another cable, except to buy a new one…
Because the suunto 9 Baro is no more sold in shop, they sell now the peak version which has a different cable than the suunto 9 😞
My guess is that I have a connector issue but on the watch not the cable, but to be sure I need to find a new cable or another person with a suunto 9 to try my cable…
          Thanks

and could the battery have died overnight? (with no warning signs?)

@Pierre-L if you can be sure that the cable is not the issue, support may help you further. Maybe your watch needs to be repaired, not sure.

I found a shop where they have a cable, so I will do my test this evening but I have poor hope 😞

                  Hi,
so at the end it was the cable who were at fault and not the watch what a good news…

The charging cables have a tendency to wear out (stop working) after about two, maybe three, years. I did not notice any significant difference between the factory cables and the cheap replacements. Of course, ymwv.
