@stromdiddily
No problem, but there is as many different titles for posts, and differents manner to describe the same “issue”, “resquest”, “bug”, that even if some of us remember to have read it, it is sometimes hard to find the source.
@margusl sorry, I forgot to mention it, that I reset all rights to “zero”, when de-installing an app.
And I have been asked to grant permission about the position during the first start (which I did), and about the notifications on the watch (which I canceled, because that is not what I have the watch for).
@margusl
Thanks Margusl for the clarification.
Conclusion they are really not clever at Suunto side,
Discarding notification setting in suunto app what a shame…
Many thanks,
Pierre.
@silentvoyager Not hard to mark as a race and simply say in the comments that the mode requires it. Personally I don’t care how famous the person is or how many followers they have…not why I am on Strava. Anyway, it would be nice to have it work properly and Dimitrios can chime in here too but…the ONLY 3rd party site I use that does not interpret the data properly is Strava.
We have 2 types of lets say a place (a coordinate on x,y,z)
1 is a POI aka point of interest
2 is a waypoint which is a POI but as part of a route.
I think first will come waypoints (that are more requested globally ) and later pois.
And yes the UI is huge task you will see it and love it.
@theguyfromthesummit cool, I did look at your screenshots for a while and managed to recreate the route in brouter, it says the ascent is 522 m and the plain ascent 452 m. So data in openstreetmap is fine. I will report it to Suunto.
Thanks to everyone reporting bugs, I know we usually forget to say it, but thanks to take time to help improve the app (and the watches).
I forgot about this issue! I had kinda just accepted that volume control has never worked for me.
But yes, can confirm, OP8T here too, volume control does nothing. All app permissions given. Having the app open does indeed make it work. Peculiar!
@Mff73 I can confirm this. I downloaded an activity from 31-12-2023 and the file name contained the year 2024. I also tried an activity from 26th of December last year and that file was named correct.
@johan6504 I’m pretty confident with MC statistics for swimming, it’s just sad that there is nothing in SA. Is the switch to ST mobile worth it (spending the money)?
@Tobias-F when Garmin released multiple devices support it was an nightmare, my half activities ended duplicates and so forth, so I have stopped to use it, for them it took one year or even more to smash bugs related to this feature and it is still having some quirks, like for example workout is not being synced from bike computer to watch and etc

Hi Brad,
Oh definitely. I’ll give it a go. I do know right now though that route planning is not an option on a smart phone.
I use an Ordnance Survey map, satellite photos and movescount to plot new routes. Land in the UK is not open access and where possible, I do try to stick to public rights of way. I wouldn’t be able to do this on a smart phone.
Kind regards
Tom
