Fortunatly Suunto also starts to be competitive regarding price and features, so maybe we will still have reasons to buy Suunto Watches in the future. Just not the same like before. With underwater route on the Ocean, value proposition of Race S & 9PP and the new Zonesense feature I think some Garmin and Coros customers will also be green with envy

@fluca agree on that especially when you look at the issues with the Fenix7/Epix2/Instinct2 - saying that they have already had an update or two which have fixed a lot of the major issues.

After several activities (cycling, walking, kayaking) downtown, riverside, countryside, in woods and on hills my result is that my Suunto watches are in the following ranking concerning the GPS accuracy: Ambit 3 and Spartan Ultra at the same level S9 with GPS S9 with GPS+Galileo For me there is no reason to upgrade from a Spartan Ultra or an Ambit 3.

Turn on GLONASS support and will be happy for you ;-)) More GLONASS only a grouping of Chinese satellites BeiDou ))

@skifun this is true. However with the Pace 2 they deleted the Trail Run activity from the original watch and many people weren’t happy. The Pace 2 (and any Coros watch) are great, but none are up the build quality of a Suunto.

For real next-gen, I’d be looking for something where my wrist or palm is the screen. Either implanted or projected. regarding the “I don’t trust maps altitude”… here’s one example I recall: I’ve planned a backcountry skitour in whiterisk platform. this is based on Swiss Topo maps. when I draw the route I don’t know how it looks in reality out there and due to the situation backcountry skiers all know I might go quite far from the “planned” track. the planning once said around 1’600m ascent but we ended up with around 1’900m… the reason why I “don’t care”: you have to walk the distance anyway
