Actually I can reproduce this behavior quite well especially in winter when there is less water in the air. Every time I put on an outdoor jacket made of synthetic fibers, the watch starts to show unrealistic values and the contrast of the screen starts to fade. After a while, the watch turns back to normal behavior. This process can be sped up by pouring water over the watch to “discharge” it. In summer (no jackets, higher absolute humidity) the watch shows no problems at all. Since I know the origin of the issue, I can adapt to it and enjoy my traverse alpha despite of its little flaw. Still a great piece of gear.
Try to induce static charge on the watch by rubbing it against fabrics to see if you can reproduce the error.
