@stromdiddily I normally used Fenix 7 Pro and Apple Watch Series 10 and 11 with overlapping data that let me analyze sleep and behaviors that improved or worsened its quality. The Vertical 2 loses hours of sleep (because the HR sensor randomly shuts off) and the phase durations are consequently wrong. I don’t need another device… I want the one I have to work on par with the others. The technology and hardware allow it, I still think it’s just a major software problem.

@Martin-Vrska said in Update: Returning My Vertical 2: @Luis-Andés-Olmedo I understand, but I don’t understand. I switched from Vertical 1 to Vertical 2 and when I put both machines next to each other, I can’t believe I could look at the V1 display - the colors are somewhere completely different. The endurance with my 3 hours of training per week, sleep tracking and connection to my mobile is more than a week and the screen experience is incomparable. Let me explain: with AOD OFF, the AMOLED display is too slow to turn on in certain situations, or it simply doesn’t let me see the time without moving my hand. With AOD ON, I feel like it’s artificial to have the watch emitting light all the time in everyday life; I just don’t like it. Maybe I’m too old-school. In any case, I hope I won’t need a watch with maps (that is the main reason why I have a smart-sports-watch) when MIP watches are no longer available. Then I’ll be able to train with any Casio or TIMEX Ironman.

@VoiGAS said in Navigation and pausing: @maszop So the buttons on the Vertical are working different than the ones of the Race? Sorry, I never used a Vertical and really don’t know the point is, that with a rotating crown, the crown is used exclusively to zoom the map. Something pretty much impossible, in winter with multiple sleeves and gloves. So the map will either zoom unintentionally from contact with clothes or difficult to operate with gloves. So me and others cannot use the crown in these cases and prefer a button-only watch.

My first “normal” week with Vertical 2: Charged to 100% on sunday evening. AOD on, Notifications on, Sleep tracking on, 24/7 hr on. Activities: 10:14 hrs total eMTB 5:08 hrs, GPS best setting, HR belt (1 hr commute every workday) Walking 2:23 hrs, GPS best setting, no HR belt Weight training 2:08 hrs, HR belt Pool Swimmig 0:35 hrs, no HR belt Next sunday evening the battery was at 24% Not sure if this is what I should get, but at the moment I think this feels ok. Did not do any running this week so hopefully 1-2 hrs of running will still get me the whole week without charging.

@Brad_Olwin Hello, I‘ve noticed the bug in my Race 2 too! Daily soft resets and also on hard reset haven‘t changed anything. What‘s strange is that the error didn‘t appear for the first seven or eight weeks. Only after switching the watch sync from iPad to iPhone (due to possible media control during training) has it become constantly present. What can I do besides performing a soft reset several times a day, which is really annoying? Version: 2.46.14

@halajos Here you go. This method is not as good as the method in my opening post with ruler. But it can be seen here too, yes. [image: 1760265355364-img_1023.jpeg]

@greku I had same experience. Charge went up to 99% and stood there. After that in 48h it went to 81%. Then I did shut down bluetooth discovery for other devices and now after four and a half day I have 66% left. I don’t know if discovery mode have something to do with battery consumption.

@Audaxjoe Same problem for me during fitness or surfing, the screen is not turning on as easily as I wish it should be. I think it’s a compromise on turning on too much or not enough. But as you said, it’s not a dealbreaker for me, it inherent to AMOLED on sport watch, not a suunto problem.

@Doodoo-Runner said in Suunto Vertical 2 questions: Hi everyone, I just received my Vertical 2 today and have a couple questions. I am using Always on Display on low brightness. Is it normal that when I touch the screen it won’t fully wake up to the watch face? Currently, the only way to do so is by gesture or pressing a button. Also, is it normal to go from 100% battery to 96% in around 2.5 hours? Yes, both normal AOD display does not wake up on touch only. Raising wrist or button is necessary. Battery consumption can be misleading for the first charging cycles. Better check again after discharge (down to 10-20%) and full charge. Enjoy your watch!

@Simon Maybe it works differently for maps/watches. I do some graphics work, and processing larger raster graphics/images is very resource-intensive. Vector graphics are more gentle on the hardware and its resources. This is generally the advantage of vector graphics. Typically, you can’t achieve visually as good results as with raster graphics, but vector graphics are cheaper (resource-wise). For this reason, car navigation systems are vector graphics. Suunto maps, despite lacking many details, look much better.

@Mff73 said in Sound/Tones settings on Vertical 2: @jakubdr strange. Few people like me would like to have your bug . Ha! Was going to post about this feature as I also would like to have sounds and/or vibration on activities (start, stop, lap etc) but no sounds or vibrations from smartphone notifications. And vibration from alarm clock. So a new toggle to mute smartphone notifications would do this for me. I still want to see them on the screen though

@Stark Firstly I was a bit disappointed by the darker titanium as it appears lighter in pictures. Now I wouldn’t want to change it even if I could. I’m sorry about your rotated display. Of course I had to check mine and it’s all fine.

@prashant I would say it depends on what you need. Suunto‘s health tracking features like sleep, recovery, resting HR, HRV etc. are imo mainly there for training guidance (e.g. if you’re training is too hard or just right or not hard enough for reaching your goals). You can of course also use them for personal health tracking, but don’t expect a lot of guidance here, like advices on when to go to bed etc. You will have to interpret your data yourself (like if your resting HR raises and your HRV drops, you might be getting sick). For pure health tracking and special guidance (e.g. sleep coaching) you might be better off with something like an Oura ring. Some personal experience: those health tracking devices like Whoop, Oura etc. are great to establish healthy routines like a good sleep routine or showing you how bad alcohol is for your recovery. But I would recommend listening to your feelings first and only look into those metrics, when you feel bad for no real reason. Then they may give you some useful information, but otherwise what do you get from a device telling you, that you’re recovery is 70% vs 85% on another day
