Suunto's newest watch is the 5 Peak

@andré-faria one thing at a time I assume. Suunto has already improved the design, next alti algorithm, next structured workouts maybe, who knows if watch UX design is on the way.
And I think they are doing good. The algo was something, that on my vision should be wildly spreaded, because it is countless time we see all over internet comments like “ditch suunto, the algo on s9b is a mess” “ditch suunto, non baro watches don’t measure well altitude”, and now a great work was done and implemented.
-
@andré-faria as if other brands do good without baro XD
-
@dmytro what is different is that most other brands automatically correct your data when you sync your watch. So in the app you see good data.
-
@isazi ahh, I see. Tbh I wouldn’t mind seeing this in SA too, at least as an option.
-
@dmytro I think that’s a good idea. After all - it’s the app that we rely on for analytics, not the watch. That would be helpful, ie. for altitude for non-baro devices. That would help in automatic fixing absurd errors with 100+ meters of ascent in first 30 seconds of workout. And some others as well, like fake ascent / descent when GPS signal weakens in parks / urban canyons.

@łukasz-szmigiel pretty sure there is a feature request for this.

Anyone here has some “real” pics of the S5P Cave Green?
-
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
I saw on the video (and asked to confirm) and the S5p still continues to be slow on some menus.
At the time I had the FR45/245/F6SS and they were all much more imediate than the S9P.
It was already explained here the motive (stability), but on my side, I think it degrades a bit the experience.
But one thing is for sure…the design and confort of S9P and I beliee the S5P is amazing.
If the new algo proves to be reliable for non baro devices, I think it can lead to good sales. Hope so!Again - I don’t find it that big of a difference. Made a quick video comparing FR 245 and S5P. The S5P is a bit slower, but nothing that I would consider to be too slow.

Ordered my S5P yesterday - and just got the notification that it has left Helsinki

@freeheeler it’s really beautiful and super light compared to the S5

@egika what colour is that? Looks great! Yesterday I thought during a nightly wake up, that I lost it during sleep, because couldn’t feel it first . It’s really awesomely light

@chrisa Ridge Sand.
Though I also like the one with the scrap material armband very much as well -

Thinking of getting one. Does anyone know for sure, if SA does supports a second watch in following way: Is recovery and body battery synced back on watch? Or do these show different things on each watch? That means does body battery show the values which are generated with the other watch and is recovery summed up (S9P mountain running, S5P flat running)?
-
@mountainchris afaik nothing gets synced back to the watch (hopefully this will be implemented someday, which would allow to use SA as a hub for multiple watches).
But resources are ± adaptive: i.e. if you had 30% on one watch, wearing the other one for a bit will show you the same value.
I don’t own two watches, just judging from what others said in the forum. -
@dmytro ok thanks and recovery is not summed up? Each watch shows only the recovery status of activities which were made with each watch?
With body battery you will see probably jumps in SA after changing watch in the beginning…
I would appreciate, if SA App becomes a Hub for different Suunto watches…
