I saw this after going for a run the other day: not the first time I’ve been running with the watch, but the first time in a couple of months, and the first time since 2.0.42, and the first time with the latest Stryd firmware, and the first time with the Suunto HRM.

Anyone know what exactly has been calibrated? FusedSpeed, perhaps? It was with run/walk (2m/1m) intervals turned on.

yes fusedspeed must be it. I have it after watch reset when a run is good enough to calibrate it

Thanks! I’d never noticed it before.

@ze-stuart I have seen this with much earlier firmware. If you have autocalibration on you will be asked if you want to calibrate the footpod.

Is it possible to force it?
Maybe to go on a track and do a good calibration.
Because my calibration was while trailrunning and so i think it wasn‘t that good.

I think if you remove the running pod, then pair it again it will, unless this is FusedSpeed, in which case you’d need to perform a factory reset.

                  Hello,
I also had it, and no stryd, no footpod, no new belt.
Look like the watch itself calibrate something with new firmware, but what ? and what is better after than before ?
                  Another mystery 🙂

@mff73 accelerometer calibration 😉 because after FW upgrade or it reset it is not calibrated. Basically useless message which could be muted.

@slash: is it possible to force it?
I had 2 forced Updates with suunto link and it never shows up again.
The problem is i think my „calibration run“ wasn‘t very good because i was trailrunning with poles.
Now when i am running on my treadmill, my watch shows a lot higher speed and more kilometers (10km on treadmill display / 11,3 on watch).
So i would like to calibrate it again on a flat run and look how it changes.

@sebastiannussbaumer what for to force? 🙂 make 1km easy walk and that is enough for calibration. I haven’t saw any watch which would show correct speed or distance on treadmill without footpod and same with treadmill all are inaccurate and inaccuracies happening even more with treadmill wear.
So for correct speed, pace and distance on treadmill get the foodpod.

                          @slash: thanks for reply.
Which footpod do you would prefer?

@sebastiannussbaumer stryd is the king of the footpods but overpriced. Milestone is quite good for it price.

                                …and after a 17km hike, I had the message “Walking calibrated” yesterday…

(and I have yet to see the “running” message…)

@egika you wont see it with running as already calibrated, any gps activity either it is running or walking will calibrate acceloremeter.
