      @stuba81
you mean like a “global” deactivation?
you can already disable it in the start screen for a specific activity. just toggle the slider and start the activity. next time you do this activity OHR will still be disabled.

@stuba81 this has just changed with the recent FW update this week.
WHR settings are now remembered per sports mode.
You should only need to set it once now.
        Check it!

@freeheeler Hi, when this has been updated? I just reseted whit watch few weeks ago and still I do need to disable HR every single time I start running or skiing. I do have some memory footprinti that in past this was “sticky”.

          Thanks for replies, much appreciated.

@egika Hi, I had just reseted before this update and now it seems to stick. Great stuff, thanks!

Sometimes I try to push changes a bit further. Annoyance with updates that they seems to reset all settings I have made. These are mostly disabling most of the features I do not use like optical HR and feeling. Previously I did use some custom sports modes, but after few updates and re-creating them from sratch I have not bothered. It took always some time and it was kind of annoyoing try to rememer what I did actually have on my screens. Basics are just fine most of the time so I have stick with them.

So one feature request would be to keep custom settings when they are really can not be migrated to new format. I might give custom sports mode a change again. Last time I did try was long time ago and whole sync was not that fast or solid, it was a rather frustrating to get things synced.

Custom sport modes are not changed during updates, nor are the options associated with them. The only issue is, if your update fails and the watch need a reset, you lose the custom sports mode.

BTW I am restarting the Windows machine after every SuuntoLink update and so far I have had zero resets of the 9B. Will keep checking.

@isazi I didn’t get a failed update, but autopause turned on after both recent updates completely on its own. So I had to disable it for every sports mode I use manually.

@dmytro this is normal for NON custom modes. Custom modes are untouched.

@isazi I can confirm this. I use custom sport modes for all my regular activities and they are all untouched.

                    However…
Now that I checked it, I noticed my custom snowboard profile has disappeared. It’s not in the watch nor in the app.

In the past the snowboarding profile caused crashes in the watch and app after a firmware update. No idea if it is a coincident that it has disappeared after the last update

but touch is always disabled until you press a button. only then touch is enabled, isn’t it?

Well actually that is not true…it also activates when you get notification…for example I was on bike, I came home I went into the shower and then I get notification about daily calories, something like “congrats you’ve done your daily target”, so my S9B has been activated and it started scrolling up and down and it also accidentally run stopwatch and it goes just crazy…and of course as I said before you can not even use stopwatch in the water so for example I can not even measure breath hold of my buddy. Therefore I would like to have option to disable the touch screen in shortcut menu like “Media controls”… this is sooo big disappointment for me and I really fighting with it 😥

@vio112 true, if there is a notification you can interact with the touch is enabled for few seconds. Would not be useful otherwise. If you get a system notification (one you cannot interact with), then touch is not enabled.

I see… mainly with stop watch in water is a bigger issue than I thought!
and the one with the shower… it’s annoying and it gives the impression as if someone stopped racing 10m before the finish line 🙄

@egika That’s great. just tried it and that is the case for me. Having the watch remember that you don’t use HR was something I’ve asked for a few times so really cool to see that it’s been implemented. Nice job 🔺

Just wondering if you change anything else such as battery performance; for your next workout does it recall all of the previous settings that were applied, or is it only for HR?

@surfboomerang @isazi I might give it a go. I did use custom sports modes early when S9 was release. I remember they were all reseted after updates so I did not bother to update them after few tries. Great if this is better now.

Its been a while since I last used it, but I am pretty sure I remember the S7 having a hotkey lock screen/button option.
Surely S9 could have the same options…

I do like how Garmin have implemented theirs on the Epix/F7 - you have an option to lock touch screen and an option to lock buttons & touch screen in the control wheel, plus you can set them as hotkey and your get the option to enable/disable touchscreen for system navigation, activities and or sleep; and then you get the ability to set this for individual activities to by going into the activity and changing the default setting. i.e. I have touch off for activities, but for strength training I have gone into the activity and changed the setting for it to be on (find it easier to adjust rep count, set count etc using touch screen); and have done the same for hiking for maps, but running for example its off, and if I need touch screen for the maps I just press my hotkey combo and hey presto can now pan/zoom in maps using touch.

sounds like Garmin almost made the perfect watch, if they would have added the option to have touch enabled while buttons locked 😉
                                          …I know, I’m pretty demanding!
but only because S7 has a lock function, does not mean S9 will ever receive this function.
It’s too long since the first serious request for it. Simple things are normally either done soon or never 😉

They did not, I have a hate/like relationship with my Epix 2, more the former than the latter. Overall, I do not think the compromises are worth changing for. But, my opinion and others will vary. You can indeed lock the watch down. Fortunately, I did not have the accidental button press issues with the S9baro, nor do my friends that have the watch. However, I get it and think it would be good to implement.
