I hope the find a solution for the ohr problems with tattooed full sleeve. When not it is useless for a high-end product like the s9p
local Tattoo removal service
-
@Set_218 Most individuals with arm tabors have issues with this. it is not specific to Suunto.
-
Sorry, but there is a specific sw-problem with the last update. with the old sw everything goes right and stable on the s9p and my tattoos. after the last update nothing works than before.
the same problem (over years) are with garmin and no problems with polar, but i don`t want to jump to the fields. -
@Set_218 Last update activated wrist detection afaik. Maybe this could be made to a toggle, to detect or not.
-
@DMytro yes, I believe the off-wrist detection does not work for some people with tattoos.

Can you explain it ? Off-wrist detection ?
Thx -
@Set_218
the Off-wrist detection will check if watch is on a living , if yes then scan your HR, if not then keep OHR off to save battery.so basically it doesn’t work on living dead

WTF, can we have the new update before UK getting a new premier ministre ?
-
@zhang965
Suunto doesn’t release updates as often as UK releases premier ministers -
@freeheeler Will surely outlast the lettuce then
-
zzzZZZZZZ
-
@HankWang it’s coming, not sure when but it’s coming. It will have to come to bring Strava segments and all other S+ compatibility to older watches.
-
@isazi , what about running power?
-
@Theo-Lakerveld Sadly, no running power for S9P. I read it in the S9PP thread somewhere.
Yay for Strava live segments
@isazi Any other features you are allowed to reveal for the update?

No running power for S9P… we were screwed (have to put some steam out) I would not have bought a 500€ top end Suunto watch if I knew that it is going to be replaced in a year.
Now the race is on S10 or new firmware for S9P
-
@Ketoohs it is not being replaced, is getting all new features that the hardware allows it, and continuing its life parallel to the other models. I bought one in July 2021 and still use it every day as my main sport watch.
-
I have a fear that this will be the last firmware for the 9 series. Judging by the reviews suunto will develop the peak pro and will not bother with the firmware for old watches. Somewhere we have already seen this with the Ambit and Spartan series, where the firmware was flawed, but the watch continued to sell.
-
@isazi I bought one this year. As I said, I needed to let some steam out.
But I bought it because it was the best hat Suunto had to offer and was expecting it would have been the focus of development for the time being.
Now I can not just sell the S9P as the market for used Suunto watches does not exist in my country (tried to sell a used Spartan WHR for 80€ and no one wanted it). And can not justify to buy S9PP for the new functionalities.
But waiting eager for the S9PPP or S10 or SX.
-
@Stas-Varazhbit You could counter that with the S9 getting updates 4 years after it’s release.
I have no doubt that there will be features that won’t come to the 9 or 9 peak. But that won’t make them less functional than they are now.
Plus with the development of Suunto+ you won’t need a firmware update for added functionality.
-
@Stas-Varazhbit
I don’t worry about that too much. S9 series is relatively new, especially peak.
if it doesn’t receive new features, we still have more than what we paid for in the first place.and of course, if Suunto decides to focus on the pro only, it’s fair enough. it’s business and resource management.
I’m happy with my S9B and don’t miss much today
nice things like quick charge, multi gnss, better baro sensor position and much more are tempting, but totally hardware related. if I want that, I need to upgrade anyway
