    Hi, guys and girls=)

    I conducted a little experiment.
Took my s9peak and full pot of water.
Also we know, that nornal atmosphere pressure on sea level is 760 mm of mercury or 10 000 mm of water. Also we know, that every 10m of gain elevation make pressure less on 1 mm mercury (or approximately 13mm water).
And I know, that length of iPhone 12 mini is 131mm.
If I submerge watch in water on the lenght of my phone, I should get pressure -100m (approx).
    And yes, I got it!
Secuence of it is that barometer in older watches may be enough precisios under water!

Please, make mermaid and snorkeling modes for older watches, it is so usless in general (I mean, that it is not game changer for most of people), but so funny and interesting=)

Precision at depth of 113mm is one thing, but check also max pressure admissible for such sensors. I imagine you won’t dive only 113mm πŸ˜‰

I know, know, tomorrow check in sea😁
In general, this part was about precision - it is very good at least for minimal depth:)
And this post is the joke mostly.
Suppose, that in old Ambit 2/3 I could write a miniapp for that

I remember that when Spartan was released, there was such snorkeling mode, but quickly removed (not sure if it was precision reasons).

Interesting, that Suunto Core has snorkeling mode (even cheapest version has it https://www.suunto.com/en-gb/Products/sports-watches/Suunto-Core/Suunto-Core-Regular-Black/).

Underwater precision is not the issue. Pressure changes magnitudes bigger than in the atmosphere with altitude.
It is the total detection range of the sensor that is limiting it.
You have a fixed bit resolution of the sensor in total. To get high precision altitude resolution, you need to waste a lot of bits for under water.
With S9PP this has been re-dialed.
              Not so for older models.
Any extension under water will reduce resolution above.
