Download All Activity Data
-
Hi,
I would like to download / export all my activity data from my Suunto App. I have the Suunto Traverse watch and I have the Suunto App on my Iphone I also have the Suunto Link app on my PC. I have a couple of years of activity data that I would like to download in a csv, or JSON, or any other format that I can read so I may run my own analytics on the data. My activities are a range of different activities such as running, treadmill, cycling, swimming, aerobics, and weightlifting. I would like to download / export all of this data in as few steps as possible.
I found information how to download one activity at at time, but that would take forever.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers, -
@crashnorun Suunto support can send you a link that allows you to download the full history of activities (and other app data, I believe) in a .zip file. Activities will not be in .csv or .json, though, but in .fit.

@Spree Thanks for the advise. I will reach out to them.

What answer did you receive from them? Did you manage to figure it out?
I emailed Suunto and they told me batch exporting all data and activities is not possible.

@marsfarce I think that EU law makes it mandatory for them. Not 100% sure, but very confident.

i am currently in the process with Suunto Support to get all my data, according to EU gdpr rules.
it is almost 2 or 3 weeks since the process (request by chat) began, i still don’t have my data (but i have an email that the export bagan ).
i will see what i will get, because in the last mail i received i was advised to export my data from the Suunto forum itself using my forum profile personnal data. It seems little not related to my Suunto activities from suunto app, but let see. -

Thank goodness for eu laws! But what if you’re not in the EU, does this still apply?

ehh… EU set laws for the rest of the world… is this an actual question?
-
@twekkel I don’t believe it does. The EU laws only apply to its residents. I would assume a company can choose whether to apply the same rules elsewhere but why would they if it’s not in their interest.
For example, the EU recently forced apple to allow outside app stores, but this will only benefit EU countries.

GDPR / RGPD export should be a relatively quick process, not waiting for months
