When will we get new firmware from Suunto?
-
@dulko79 Afaik Suunto was bought by Liesheng. They should have the technology intellectual property to make use of

The new IOS app has an HRV field. There finally seems to be movement after the summer break

@Kurt68 The Race Start

@Kurt68 waiting for watch update nowā¦

@Kurt68 I donāt see this HRV field in my iOS app. Where is this from ?
-
Is for Beta IOS

One new thing in the latest iOS beta, which is already working, are automatically assigned tags, based on the type of training session (Suunto Coach). I just did a short easy run, and it got the tag āaerobicā (āAerobā in German) assigned. Very nice addition.
It would be nice, if Suunto could apply those auto tags to all existing activities. That might be a long running task on the backend
When I press on a tag, I see all activities with this assigned tag. It would be nice to have some graphs on this screen, like min/max/avg HR, avg speed/tempo (whatever makes sense) over a selectable period of time (itās already filterable by sport). This way we could easily analyze the benefits of our training. For example: In aerobic/long aerobic sessions avg hr should go down, while avg speed might go up (if we are getting stronger). Of course, having this on a larger screen (optimized UI for tablets or a web app), would be even nicer.
Thereās already a screen for this: Training zone -> Analyze. Only the filter by tag is missing here. Low hanging fruit.

@wmichi wow, fantastic! Any idea how we can try this beta iOS ?
-
@leafs93 I do believe that the number of places on test flight is limited.
-
@leafs93 Via TestFlight, maybe this link works: https://testflight.apple.com/join/DJyDC5SU
-
@wmichi top i lost the Link ^^
-
Is the iOS beta stable?
-
@tomasbartko Donāt worry, itās not irreversible ^^

Why is it that when Garmin innovates and adds features like āHRVā, people here call them gimmicks and celebrate the fact that Suunto doesnāt add these useless features. However when Suunto adds them itās the greatest thing even when Suunto delivers a half baked and even more useless version of what Garmin is doing. I really wish Suunto would innovate and continue to create features that are unique to Suunto. For example, the Suunto plus and apps are a step in the right direction and they should continue to build on that foundation. They should focus on making their products stable and crash free and build on what makes the brand unique for outdoor enthusiasts.

Because itās Suunto community forum.
-
@TyreseJ4 not all features are called gimmicks did someone here mention that hrv is a gimmick?
-
@zhang965 we dont come here to argue who is best or what is worth or what mindset people should have. Its a community forum indeed so you will find more Suunto users than the Garmin forums where you will find more garmin users. But I guess we have to repeat that ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I never said that anyone specifically referred to HRV as a gimmick. I said features like HRV have been referred to as gimmicks. However I wouldnāt be surprised if I found those exact words if I cared enough to dig. So with that said youāve never seen anything from Garmin referred to here as a gimmick?
-
@TyreseJ4 This is Suunto forum, I really donāt care about garminā¦and their featuresā¦
-
@nseslija With respect I never asked you what you cared for. Can you find any comment above where I asked YOU specifically what you thought? I assure you itās not there. With that said itās clear Suunto cares about Garmin features because they keep adding them.
