I’ve made a plan for marathon nutrition, starting with first gel after 45 minutes, and salt at one hour.
If I understood the instructions correctly I chose 1st segment after 45 minutes (Gel), second segment after 15 minutes (Salt).
I kept on planning the segments on the basis of a gel every 45min and salt every hour by the hour.
I added the necessary time differences for each segment:

    1. 45min (1st gel)
    2. 15min (salt 1hr)
    3. 30min (2nd gel 1:30hr)
    4. 30min (2nd salt 2hr)
      And so on…

What I got was a first reminder for salt after 45min???
After 1hr I got a reminder for 2nd gel (my text)

Fortunately I’m using it on training runs,
The text is so small I had to recheck several runs to make sure I didn’t mistakingly make a reading error.

Am I missing out on something with the time segments??? Maybe I musunderstood how to plan the segments…?!?

And Suunto developers… can you please make the text MUCH bigger, it’s hard enough reading it at all but during a run it is almost invisible…🙄

Would love a Vertical with amoled display.

@peegee I had a go using this the other week and I think your issue is that the gel should be at 45 minutes and then the salt at 60 minutes.
Here was no setup and outside of the text sizing it worked a treat

@peegee you need to set it up as @FunkyLarma suggests & it will work perfectly.

I agree with you 100% about the text size, it’s ridiculously small & such a waste considering the fantastic Race display…

I also agree with the text comments, it’s way too small. You have your instructions and then the other ¾ of the screen is left empty which kind of highlights the point perfectly

I used SuuntoPlus yesterday for a session where I had 3 x 7km intervals, I’d set up pace parameters for these. The text was tiny and I couldn’t read it, even more so while running. If I didn’t know beforehand what paces I was meant to be running the feature would have been useless

              @MiniForklift
The small size is frustrating and totally useless when hr is high during a run

I tried it out bu unexplainable I get a 15 minute difference.
I wrote at 90min to take second gel and it appeared at 1:45?!?
                I just can’t workout what I’m not doing right, it’s really frustrating😫

I don’t use this at all, but I tested briefly.
It seems that the “issue” is the meaning of the section and alerts.
First section starts at start of the activity, but first warning is warning for the next section (with second note) at the end of first section (no warning for the first note).
To be warned for 1st gel at 45min, and then for salt 15min later, you should introduce a first section ““with no warning””.

@peegee this is how I would set it up. Although it will not be until the week end when I can test it

I realise this post is quite old but for anyone else coming to this issue (like I just did on the Race S) I would note the following:-

                        1. The segments and timers are all a bit confusing.
As someone previously noted, the Segment 1 message comes up straight away, and the Segment 1 timer is then the delay until Segment 2.
As such, I use Segment 1 as a last ditch reminder to take my pre-race gel / confirm the app has started.
                        2. The time is gaps between segments (e.g. 45/45/30 mins); I note that some users have given examples with total run time (e.g. 45/90/120mins) and in my experience this is not correct.
                        3. The text is definitely too small for when you’re on a run!
                        4. It would be beneficial to have the ability to repeat a setup - I have a longer event planned and 20 segments isn’t enough, but it’s a simple repeated pattern…

Below is an example of how I’ve set up my Race Nutrition app. I’ve only used it on one training run and tested it a few times with shorter duration segments to confirm operation, but now seems to work as I’d expect.
