Disappointing Sleep tracking after new update
-
For my part, I am having difficulty detecting naps on my vertical. I had the breed before going vertical and had no problems with the breed. Naps were well detected and quantified.
The vertical does not detect naps at all although sleep seems to me to be well monitored (bed/wake up times in accordance with reality) I entered the same physiological data in the race and in the vertical. I don’t understand anything. -
@Fizzgig
Vertical does not track naps.
it’s the Race only that tracks naps -
the vertical having received the race update, I was convinced that the nap detection was activated.
If it’s not, I don’t have any problem -
@Fizzgig as @freeheeler said Vertical and S9PP do not support naps detection. As of today, only the Race support that. We will see if something changes in 2024, as you know the current algorithm is the first production ready sleep tracking algorithm from Suunto itself.

@isazi I hope this will soon change for SV

Last 14 days my Vertical is showing the same data as before the update. According to my Vertical I do sleep about 4 hours/night.
That is clearly wrong and should as be at least 6 hours.
It keep showing that every night I have about 2-4 hours awake time and show wrong wake up time. -

But then… the dark winter time and dry freezing air made my psoriasis really flare and the skin irritation forced me to move the watch to my right wrist. It’s been two nights now and both were flawlessly tracked. Zero minutes spent awake and the time of falling asleep and waking up are as good as they can get. Interesting!

This is just getting worse by the day. This is how over 7 h looks like. For two days ago 7 hours was shown as 2.

@Iggge have you tried another band? I had better sleep tracking with any Suunto (besides the Race) when using elastic Nylonbands which could be adjusted much better and also wearing those - even when worn tightly - was much more comfortable. You might also try different positions on either arm (seems to make quite a difference for some people).
I don’t know how the new algorithm for the Vertical works and if HR is used in the sleep calculations, but for me it always worked best, when setting my RHR in the watch about 8 to 10 points above my lowest average HR. -
@ChrisA I have not. Do you have anything you recommend?
-
@Iggge I had/have different ones. One is from Yooside, the other one a cheaper one by Vodtian. I ordered them from Amazon. I also recall, that some people liked the really good Coros Nylonbands which comes with the Apex Pro 2. You just have to make sure it’s at least a bit elastic and a has a Velcro for fastening.

Woke up at 4:55 this morning but the watch shows 7:30…
-
@Frederick-Rochette Have you set the good range in sleep tracking parameter?
-
@ChrisA Thanks! I will buy a new band soon.
-
@Antoine yes it’s 7:30 but exceptionally woke up at 4:55 and no activity was detected…

My Vertical have big problems with sleep analysis. This is last two nights…
