Brown leather wristband for Suunto Vertical (Solar)

Hey Suunto community,
anyone else missing the “classic brown leather strap” for the Suunto Vertical (Solar) model?
The blue and black leather wristband for the SV seem to look quite nice (besides the pricing). However, the standard silicone strap is black already, and seldomly do I wear blue belts and shoes…
Unfortunately, the brown leather wristband is only available in 24mm for the Suunto 9 etc.
Reading through the thread on the topic https://forum.suunto.com/topic/9184/suunto-wristband, the community seems to be quite fond of the silicone straps. Leather seems more adqaute for formal occasions though, I find.
Speaking of the brown leather: what do you think of the rougher edges of the buckle and the strap end in the Suunto 9 wristband version compared to the Suunto Vertical leather wristband? I admit that I find the brown one, with the rough edges and the visible stichtes considerbaly more appealing…

@alschmid I don’t like the silicone straps and also causes a reaction. I guess as they do not breath well.
I have a leather strap, non Suunto. It works well and seems to last. I use it all the time. I guess sweat will kill it eventually

I’d also like feedback on the Suunto leather strap. Green or Brown would be a nice option! -
@alschmid I bought the brown leather straps of the Suunto 3 and swapped pins. Now I have a brown leather strap for my Vertical

Thanks for sharing your opinion and the hint. May I ask for a hint, @Audaxjoe, on what “leather strap, non Suunto” you have that fits the purpose and where you got it?

I wonder, is it not “too small”, with the 2mm missing to the strap width SV? And (where) have you found to buy just the pins?

From Amazon, I’m in the UK and under ten pound. Annefit was the seller.

@alschmid I had the pins around, removed from another strap, and the strap is definitely thinner because only 20mm, but I only wear the leather strap for special occasions and never to record activities, so it works.

@Audaxjoe I now tried the approach: AMZN, “genuine leather”. Looked decent in the online shop.
On receiving it, I remember why I prefer original products: underwhelming quality, only a thin layer of leather on the surface (, if at all), starts wearing off after first fitting, not really comfortable to wear…

I used to wear original brown leather strap with S9B, now for SV I ordered leather strap from “far east”. Looks very similar, it’s 22mm and quality made. I wear this strap for special occasions, not for sport activities.

@alschmid I do think the Original Suunto product will be high quality. I had the canvas strap on my 9baro and it was very well made.
I am sorry happy with my Amazon strap. It does seem to be wearing well, but I’m pretty sure I’ll invest in the Sunnto one at some point.
