So I have been using my vertical for a while now and love it. But there is one thing I noticed and I’m hoping to get some thoughts. Here is the situation:

I want to do some multi day hikes this summer. In the past with my Suunto ambit I would often put my watch in front of my tent to get morning temperatures and weather data. I also like to sleep without the watch during the trips.

I noticed that when I’m not wearing the watch for a night or so it drains more battery. I have tested it a couple times at home and if I don’t wear the watch for a night or even couple days the battery goes down quite a bit.

I’m worried that when on my hikes the battery won’t last long if that happens. But I also don’t want turn it off because I want my ambient readings.

Any thoughts ideas reasons for this battery drain when not wearing it ?

@BastMaSVSRS9PP my Vertical goes on for weeks on a single charge. Even when recording activities. I don’t wear the watch during the night and I don’t have 24/7 HR and sleep tracking enabled. Almost no battery drain during the night.

Maybe you’ve enabled a certain setting which causes the battery drain during the night?

@surfboomerang thanks! Maybe I should turn off sleep tracking and 247 hr when I’m not wearing it … I’ll try

@BastMaSVSRS9PP I also have no problems with battery at night. I never wear it for sleep.
Sleep and HR tracking is off.

@BastMaSVSRS9PP if you have 24/7 hr and you put your watch facing upwards the hr LEDs continue emitting and trying to get your hr. So turn that off
