Rash from the watch

So I’ve been using the suunto peak quite a lot, and it’s quite often following sleep ect. Anyone else similar red rash under the sensor area?

@Jaakko-Pylkkö No, all okay

I use my Vertical 24/7. I started with 9 Baro and after wearing it for 3-4 days I got some irriation on my skin under the watch. I’ve always washed my watch every evening before going to sleep. I started to wear it on other wrist during night and never had it after that. It’s good to let skin breath a bit so switching between arms helped me atleast.

@Jaakko-Pylkkö Yes, I had it for like 2-3 weeks and it went away when I switched from the silicon bracelet to the nylon one

@Jaakko-Pylkkö silicon strap seems to irritate my skin. I am using a 3rd party stretch straps and Suunto nylon straps and they feel better, especially when it’s hot like this early summer has been in Finland. But the sensor area never gave me any worries, though I do wash my watch every day when I shower.

I actually have this issue as well with my new Suunto Vertical.
Been wearing it for the past month or so and have a red irritated skin circle exactly like that sensor on my skin now.It’s not actually itchy or overly warm, but the skin looks a bit chafed and irritated.
Came here wondering if more people have had allergic reactions to this.Have yet to see a doctor about it, but I’m a bit worried.
I was wearing the watch 24/7, but now keeping it off apart from the hours I actually walk out/exercise (which is about 15 hours a week.) Or at least until my doctor has had a chance to look at it.I’ve worn fitness bands with HRM before and never had any issues there, but it’s the first time I’m wearing a full watch so not sure if that’s causing the difference.
(Although I admit I usually had the fitness tracker on my right hand with a normal watch on the left and been wearing the smartwatch on my right hand.)Did the issue eventually resolve for you guys? Or can I only expect this to become worse?

@Laurefindl I have the same problem, it happens to me sometimes, especially when I have a tight strap. Also a red circle, you need to apply some cream and it will disappear. Nothing terrible, or buy nylon straps

Had the same problems, and replaced the strap by a more breathable from Suunto. Still if I forget to loosen the watch after workouts and wear it all time I get skin irritation at the sensor area. Then I switch wrists at least during sleep.
I don’t think its the sensor but the charging poles maybe they contain some irritating metals and in combination with sweat and pressure it irritats the skin.
I haven’t been tested positiv on metal allergies but sometimes I have problems with metal buttons on trousers, sometimes not with the same button.
