@jouko-from-suunto I understand that new product will be launched with a stable version of the Suunto App. So I presume that in spring will be a Stable version of Suunto App. I will love the option of two branches, stable app and beta app for user like us
-
@suzzlo I hope this is going to be the way. I would almost bet on that.
-
@suzzlo To be more speciifc, it makes no sense to have no beta.
We can here be a bit ahead in time and test all the new goodies! -
As always few words from hands-on by Ray Maker

@therunningdaddy Seems that OS core is the same of Spartan.
-
@luís-pinto yep, looks like it. Starting with Spartan Suunto is developing the new OS. That is why we don’t have functionalities transferred 1:1 from Ambit series.
So all that we miss from Ambit is NOT on Spartan because Suunto decided to not include those functionalities - It’s because those functionalities have to be completely rebuild and adapted to new OS. At least it seems like that is the case. Long way to go but we’re gonna get there. #2018updateiscomming -
@therunningdaddy This has always been my conviction. The Spartan OS was written from scratch when it was released.
-
Yep as @TheRunningDaddy Said.
However, keep in mind that like all os/platforms they have sw and hw limitations.
You cannot fit all the stuff in all the iPhones for example and the same goes for Android etc.Welcome to modern world development.
-
Not interested on the new watch itself. But some of the software features look interesting, looking forward to come to the spartan line.
-
@alberto-yoldi I have the same opinion as you.
-
@alberto-yoldi the same here. In terms of design it’s descent looking, elegant yet to fragile for me (apart from formal meetings/suit & tie clothing occasions). Still pretty excited that it brings new functionalities that I’d love to see on Spartan (mainly wrist based HR series).
-
@alberto-yoldi However, my girlfriend already asks me to preorder
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Yes, girls love Suunto’s style!
-
I see this product for people who make indoor activities such as treadmill, spinning fitness, cardio, gym, etc and also want a beautiful daily watch.
-
@brad_olwin I’m convinced that Suunto 3 will have support for footpods like Stryd, Milestone or Runscribe and any that have bluetooth 4.x. And will permit that you can save the route having it paired with the smartphone. It will make sense for occasional activities.
-
@luís-pinto looks like it. From what I read around.
-
Yes, it will be great if it’s compatible to footpod.
Or, it can use the gps of the phone like the Polar A370. -
@brad_olwin Suunto 3 Fitness will be launch at April 4th and will include NFC payments later: http://www.suunto.com/News/bpay-and-suunto-partner-to-meet-growing-demand-for-contactless-payment-timepieces/
-
@luís-pinto and as usual Suunto partners with a strong actor of the market

Those pics you can see on the DCRainmaker page from the software, is this a complete new one? Only available right now on the coming S3F? So, when S3F is launched, there may be a firmware update for Spartan similar to this?
