Inconsistency in measuring distances in swimming

First of all, I didn’t find the topic here in the forum, that’s why I’m asking.

I swam in open water a predetermined distance of about 3.5 km
According to the map in the app, you can see that the course is around 3.5 km (swimming there and back on the course)
At the end of the workout, 1.6 km appears in the app and on the watch in the workout summary
When I transferred the workout to a friend, he opened the workout in the Suunto app (Android phone) and a distance of about 3.5 km appears - it makes sense
Note that in bicycle training everything is normal in terms of distance
Does anyone have an idea what can be done -
