Firstly, calorie burn is estimated off HR zones, so if you’ve set specific zones then you’ll get better results. Fwiw this morning I was out for 1:22, with my max HR at 185, threshold low 160s, did five hill intervals mixed in at z4/z5 for 100s, averaged upper Z2 HR for 871 calories.

As ever though, will vary based on you and your heart.

As for in app calories, my active and BMR are obviously split, so not sure there:

@The_77 thank you. Yes I’ve set my zones, max HR is 196 for me. If I am correct, the 871 in your screenshot is active + BMR calories during your run yes ? Because your number of active cal for the day is lower than 871. And tbh, your estimate seem low too for your run for that duration with ascent on top of it 😉

@DianeB slightly tired morning run due to going meteor hunting suppressed HR maybe? 😅 And yes, I’m guessing the active split is slightly under 871, if you run by the burner app, 4Kcal per g carbs, 9kcal/g fat, I get 718 kcal though with this chat about max HR I’ve just fiddled with it a tiny 3bpm 😁

App display is a bug though, maybe clear cache if you’re on android to force it to re-sync properly.

@DianeB if you’re on Android you can force the app to re-sync the watch by deleting the cache in app settings - on iPhone you have to uninstall and reinstall if you think you have a cloud issue with data.

@The_77 That I understood thanks for the tip. But it’s the whole paragraph about meteors and carbs I did not get 🙂

@DianeB ah, if you activate the burner Suunto+ App, if gives you the number of grams of Fat and Carbohydrates burnt as an estimation. Typically from memory, 1g of Carbs is 4kcal, and 1g fat is 9kcal. You can use that to work out your actual active calories for the activity, roughly.

As one other note, that calorie count at the top is slightly counterintuitive, as it is the total active calories for the day, not just your activities, which you’d suspect if you just glanced at it since it’s next to the number of activities and time spent in activity.

The meteor part was that body tiredness induces suppressed HR, meaning it won’t go as high as if I was fresh, and I may have burnt less calories than a fresh run. But that was more of a guess, since I went to watch the Perseid meteor shower last night.

@DianeB it absolutely should be, every single item on the Suunto+ store should be compatible with the Race S, obviously you need the external accessory for some like CORE sensor or so on?
