      Hi Guys,

      I have already opened a topic about constant Low HRV on my Race.
      However it looks weird, but as a trend seems to be OK and represent well the changes in my health status.
      Now I turn to you with an question based on my observations.
      I realized that the time I spend in deep sleep, during a regular night is around 25-30% of the whole sleep. With regards, my HRV is around 21-26.
      When the amount of deep sleep is above 30%, my HRV gets lower.
      For example this night my deep sleep was 41% and HRV just 16.

      My understanding of HRV that it should be higher with longer time the man spends in deep sleep.
      I don’t understand why the opposite happens in my case.
      Can someone help me to make it clear? Or is there anyone here is experiencing similar?

      Thanks,
      Marcell

        @kamarasm Hello and good morning, first of all I would like to say that HRV is a very individual value that cannot be compared with any other person. Furthermore, deep sleep alone does not determine the key figures for your HRV. HRV has nothing to do with that. From a medical point of view, HRV “only” shows a calculated quotient of the time between each individual heartbeat. This very individual value, which cannot be compared with other people, comes from the balance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Stress, alcohol, physical stress, overtraining, bad food, emotional stress, worries, fears, drugs, impending infection and illness - all of these things influence the value of your HRV. Not just the length of your deep sleep phase. I hope that helps you a little.

          @GiPFELKiND thanks a lot.
          I exactly understand your point and that is clear for me that HRV depends on several factors and individual per persons.
          What I’m curious on is the pattern that other can see similar or not.
          I’m asking this because the relation I read about between deep sleep and HRV. In my case completely the opposite logic happens.
          As I’m doing whole reviews by sport doctor, who hasn’t find problem, this surprised me. Maybe there is something which misleading the algorithm, what can prove if others experience the similar pattern like me.

          Regards,
          Marcell
